To call Nate a bar fly was like calling a hooker a very *friendly* person. It was just painfully obvious, whether it was because of his nature of picking up strange women in bars or hustling guys at pool to pick up a little area cash.
The bar was Nate’s element and nearly every bartender knew his name, or made up some form of nickname for him if they simply hadnt caught it. Sometimes they'd know his name yet give him a nick because they were creative that way. He'd heard them all to be honest.
Lining up his final shot on the pool table, his dark green eyes staring right at that 8 ball hugging the wall on the right side, all the guys around the pool table didn’t move, all eyes on him.
Slowly moving his pool cue over a little bit, a smirk slowly slithered across his face before pulling the cue back, “Get ready to empty your wallets boys,” he said loudly, his cocknet accent gleaming through, as he shoved the cue forward, sending the cue ball flying towards the 8 ball, knocking it straight into the corner pocket so hard, it nearly leaped back on out again.
Groans came across the entire table along with the sound of crumpled money. Nate smiled as the pile on the side of the pool table grew bigger and bigger and the crowd around him started to disappear.
“Hey what, no one wants to go again? Oh come on boys, one more!” He shouted back at the crowd wondering to the bar to spend the last of their money to drown their brains in alcohol.
He sighed and grabbed the pile of money and shoved it into his jacket pocket slowly setting toward the bar himself. The young man happily drifted toward the stool perched against the bar. Taking a seat he stuffed half the notes into his pockets before dropping the remainder onto the bar.
"Keep them comin' love" Nate grinned pushing the cash toward the attractive barmaid. Turning lightly in his seat he gazed around the bar.So many shady faces. But who was he to judge? really..he was a vampire. They didnt come more shady.
Slipping his hand into his jacket he took out one of his trusty cancer sticks. Slapping the end between his lips, he swiftly bought his lighter up and burned the end till it glew embers.
"Hey no smokin! cant you read!" the old, less attractive, peroxided blonde barmaid called aloud. Nate turned his head toward her with the ciggarette still hanging on his lips "Shut up.." he took a big drag. She glared at him "What you gonna do about it?" he questioned with a grin challenging her, she wasnt gonna do nothing.
Rolling her eyes she moved away "Slag" Nate muttered taking another deep drag. Lifting his head up he grinned at the hot barmaid as she bought him his first Jd and coke.

Sidney Freeman was in town, yet no-one likely knew it, and that was how Sidney preferred it anyway. Just a ghost, that unmemorable face you could glimpse a thousand times and not remember having seen before, or if you were unlucky a very memorable face, like the last face you ever see...
Slamming the slightly dusty black door shut on her car in a nonchalant manner, Sidney stuffed her hand into the pocket of her jeans, pulling out her packet of cigarettes and a lighter, before swiftly removing said cigarette, purching it between her lips and cupping her hands around it while she lit it. Inhaling deeply, she held in the noxious fumes for a moment before exhaling them. Now that one need had been satisfied, she now needed a drink.
Strolling into the bar, Sidney walked straight up to the bar, not taking any notice of anyone around her. Stuffing her cigarette packet back into her jeans pocket, she popped the lit ciggy between her lips again as she sat herself down on a bar stool. The tip of the cigarette glowed deep orange as she inhaled once more before removing the little white stick from her mouth and pursing her lips as she blew out the excess smoke. Spying no ash trays around the counter, instead of coming to the conclusion that the bar was in fact a no smoking area, Sidney pulled over an emptied glass and flicked the ash into that instead.
Finally settled, Sidney glanced over at the bottle blonde barmaid, who was giving her the feircest looking glare she'd witnessed in a while. Sid raised her eyebrows in a questioning manner, but the barmaid didn't say anything and merely remained glaring in her general direction. Some people really are freaks...
Instead, Sid turned her attention to a much morefriendly looking barmaid, "Beer," She said simply with a nod, and sure enough the barmaid fetched her a bottle of beer, forcefully planting it on the bar infront of her. Why did barmaids always have to do that? She really didnt know, but took the bottle all the same and took a swig, before placing it on the bar and replacing the cigarette...
glancing to the side of her for the first time, since arriving in the bar, Sidney nopticed that she wasn't alone at the bar and was infact sitting not far away from a young man, who also seemed to be enjoying his nicotine fix. Her eyes trailed over him before her attentions returned to her bottle and her ciggy...

Nathaniel took a heavy drag from the cancer stick that perched itself between his lips. Flicking the ash out into one of the cups beside him he eyeballed the older barmaid who was still watching him. Man if looks could kill..wait, that made no sense..he was already pretty much dead.
Locking his eyes onto her he gave a challenging stare. It lingered for several moments before he blew her a kiss and she scoffed finally walking away. Grinning to himself he took a quick sip from the glass of Jd continuing to hold his cig in the opposite hand.
Setting the glass down he puffed on the cig again. Blowing out smoke rings he turned his gaze to the brunette barmaid "So, is that stick permanently wedge up her arse or is she just so happy to see me?" questioned Nate with another cheeky grin.
"Beer," a female voice called. Slowly turning his head he viewed the brunette as she took a seat at the bar. Tilting his head some he raised a brow. She certainly didnt look like the type of female to hang about in a musty old bar, but then again looks were deceiving as hell. He knew that. A hot innocent looking blonde, no harm right? wrong! wrong when she clamps her teeth onto your neck like a fucking staffordshire bull terrier. Damn he was a fucking mess.
Nathaniel noticed that the girl noticed him. She let her eyes move toward him before setting on her own cigarette in hand and bottle of beer. Grinning he turned in his seat facing her. Lifting his left hand up (the hand that held the cig) he motioned to the no smoking sign above her head "Cant you read?" grinning he downed the rest of his drink and stubbed his cig into the bottom of the glass. Hopping off of his stool he copped sight of the old blonde coming back.
With a light chuckle he backed toward Sidney "I'd watch that old tart, she might turn you to stone.." with a grin he swiftly spun on his heel and took his place back at the pool table.

Sidney listened, though didn't watch as the young man beside her made some kind of crude comment about the bitchy barmaid. Sidney smirked to herself at the comment. For Sidney, a casual smirk was like the equivalent of all out raucus laughter for anyone else. Not to say that Sid had never laughed before in her life, but in all honesty it was usually of the sarcastic variety and usually when she was trying to make a point of emphasising how rediculous or stupid some individuals idea was...
Then she noticed that the guy had turned towards her, Oh great, he's going to talk to me... She inwardly rolled her eyes but showed nothing on the surface as her eyes wandered back over to him as she took another puff on the cigarette, "Cant you read?" Sidney raised her eyebrow as her eyes followed his gesture up to the 'no smoking' sign and then back down to him and his lit ciggy. Hmm, this one is feisty She thought as she smirked, "About as well as you, it seems." She flashed a sarcastic smile.
"I'd watch that old tart, she might turn you to stone.."
She eyed him as he stepped to her and spoke once more, there was something about his eyes that got Sid's back up. There was something off about him, something a little, unnatural... Perhaps it was worth investigating a little further. Sometimes the spontanious vanquishes were the best after all! She pondered these thoughts as he abruptly turned on his heel and strolled over to the pool table.
Sidneys eyes trailed back over to the bar where she removed the ciggy from her mouth and took a swig of her beer again. The blonde barmaid was now, well and truely back and looking like she was about to give Sidney a peice of her mind. Fucking Fantastic. Just what she needed. Sidney rolled her eyes nanchalently before turning on her seat, grabbing her beer, hopping from the stool and joining the mystery man at the pool table...
Placing the peer on the edging of the table she spoke up, "Game for an ass whooping?" She smirked a little at her challange, gah she hated being social, well... Considering this guy was actually hot, it made the inner struggle a little less cringe worthy. "If I win, I get your cash, and if you win... You name your terms." She said in a semi-flirtatious manner. Needs must, needs must. If she needed to pretend... Well... claim in her mind to pretend, to want to get in his pants, to find out whether he was a danger to humanity or not, then so be it. Sidney would do almost anything to secure a vanquish.

Nathaniel began to place the balls back onto the table from the pockets where they remained after hed' previously knocked them about the table. Lifting his head slightly, he knew that the girl was coming on over. He could smell her, not that she stunk or anything, she actually smelled particularly nice, the lingering smell of her perfume, quite fruity to be honest.
When you were a vampire like he, the sense they were all so heightened and glorius. Every little smell, particularly the smaller ones gone ignored were no longer brushed away. Hell he could even smell what fresh air smelt like. That's what madeit ever so hard. When you could smell absolutely everything, temptation was high.
Grinning to himself he continued to set the balls in the place as Sidney placed her beer down on the table. "Game for an ass whooping?" She challenged.
The grin spread from ear to ear. Nate lifted his head slightly, enough to see her but looking at her under a pair heavy mysterious brows "Are you?" he returned the question. Nathaniel spoke smoothly as he eyed the girl. With a light chuckle he dropped his head again continuing to put the last balls within the triangle.
"If I win, I get your cash, and if you win... You name your terms."
He could tell by her tone that she was flirting with him. Nathaniel wouldnt complain she was a good looking girl. He found that a lot lately with the opposite sex, it was as if they could sense there was something about him. Women were mental.
With a slight chuckle he moved his eyes to her again. Grinning he lifted the cue and turned to her "How thoughtful. But you should probably lay your limitations out for me first.." stated Nate as he handed the cue out to her "I wouldnt want to build my hopes up.." of course he was going to flirt back.
Spinning on his heel again he moved around the opposite side of the table and used the wall to lead upon. Motioning for her to break he smiled "Do you always hang around bars breaking the rules and challenging potentially dangerous strange men?" he questioned with a glint in his eye as he watched her.

Sidney smirked as she watched the guy grin at her comments, he was at least vaguely interested in her, and that was all she needed. She took another drag from her cigarette, removing it from her mouth with the first and second finger of her right hand, before dropping her arm to her side and using her thumb to flick the mounting ash to the floor carelessly. It was kind of a two fingers gesture at the blonde barmaid, who was still glaring at them. Jesus She was going to be stuck that way if she kept that face up. Or maybe that was just the way she looked...
"How thoughtful. But you should probably lay your limitations out for me first.. I wouldnt want to build my hopes up.."
Sidney smirked again as she took the pool cue from him with her free hand. He was flirting back, "Limitations? I wasn't aware that I had any.." She replied, tilting her head a little to the side in a mockingly innocent manner. She silently thought about how cheap and easy that made her sound. Not that she really cared. It was all a means to an end, and the only way it was going to really matter, was if this guy was actually legit and not an immediate threat to humanity. And even then, there was no reason why she shouldn't have a little fun. Right? ... Fun.. What was that again???
Watching the guy walk around to the wall and lean against it, motioning for her to break, Sidney nodded, bringing the cigarette to her mouth once more and inhaling deeply, before lazily discarding the butt to the ground, casually stepping on it on her way around to the end of the pool table. She allowed the grey whisps of smoke to escape her lips as she grabbed the cue ball and positioned it to her liking at the end of the table, before positioning the cue right behind it and aiming for the trianglular cluster of balls at the opposite end of the table...
Pool was something Sidney had become a fair player at over the years, the gang were always playing it, they were the first to teach her how to hold a cue without tearing up the felt of the table. Then she honed her skills as she travelled around, winning a little exctra cash here and there and of course luring her hunted prey, like she was planning on doing right now...
"Do you always hang around bars breaking the rules and challenging potentially dangerous strange men?"
Just as she was about to hit the white ball, they guy spoke up. Sidneys eyes lifted as she froze the cue and smirked at his words. "...It's a hobby." She said before returning her gaze to the table and expertly striking the cue ball, sending it streaking into the cluster of colours, in turn sending them bumping all around the table, though none of them potted.
Sidney straightened up, "Besides, you don't look all that dangerous to me," She winked and smirked before walking around to the 'dangerous strange' man and held out her hand to shake, "Sidney." She introduced herself.

"Limitations? I wasn't aware that I had any.."
The young man couldnt lie he was most definitely taken aback by her responce. Not many women around here would come out with a reply such as that. He actually found himself a little lost for words. Grinning he run his tongue slightly around the side of his tooth and nodded, impressed by her answer. Biting his lip he cocked his head again "Well then i guess i wont be dissapointed when i win" Nate responded cockily.
Nathaniel leant against the wall watching her as she took the cue in hand. The brunette wasnt at all threatning, she was small in height, petite framed, kind of mousy you could say but not in the wrong sense. He curled his lips into a grin as he viewed the woman take her stance at the table, line her cue ready to hit the balls.
He allowed his eyes to move to Sidney's as she lifted them from the table and back to him. She was certainly a fiesty one at that as she came back with yet another unexpected responce.
"...It's a hobby." She said before returning her gaze to the table. Nate lowered his eyes watching as the ball hit the coloured balls and sent the scattering over the table. Though none were potted it was a fairly good hit.
"Besides, you don't look all that dangerous to me," She winked. He found himself amused by such words, boy if she only knew what he could do if given the chance, well not so much the chance but if he had given in. He'd have her dead in moments flat. Though, he wasnt going to do that..he refrained from doing such things.
"Sidney." She introduced herself.
Grinning he bought his hand up to shake hers. There was a drastic temperature difference between his skin and her's of course there was he was practically dead for god sake. Nate was particularly pale, but not the obvious pale that made him stand out like the others..thank god for bottled tan right?
"Nate" he replied with another toothy grin.

"Well then i guess i wont be dissapointed when i win"
Sidney smirked, she was close to retorting with 'neither will I'or something equally as promiscuous, but she reigned it in and settled for just the 'knowing smirk' instead...
After she had taken her shot, she had introduced herself to him and he had accepted her invitation to shake hands. His touch was icey cold, but she was not taken aback by it. She had suspected him to be cold to the touch, though there were many beings in the world that appeared to hold no body temperature, the most common, of course was the vampire. Maybe she wouldn't be getting any fun tonight. Not that kind of fun anyway. "...Nate." She echoed with a small smile and a nod.
All she needed to do now, was confirm her suspicions and that shouldn't be too difficult. Oops, I cut myself, I'm so silly, could you take a look for me? Sidney smirked at the image in her minds eye. How rediculous. But necessary. If this 'Nate' was indeed a vampire, or even another abnormal being, Sidney had no choice, she had to kill him. Properly.
Why was it? That all vampires were so good looking? Of course she knew it was a trait of the vampire itself, to help it lure its prey, and she knew she was probably falling partly under that vampiresque spell that they all carried with them. But she was strong enough to counter it when the time came. When the situation required it, she was a ruthless as they came. Good looks and apparent, though illusionary sexual chemistry held nothing in comparison to one less good looking vampire on the streets...
She teased her hand away from his, "Your shot, danger mouse" she smirked mischievously as she leant against the wall beside him. She hoped this game wasn't going to last long. Either that he was a brilliant player and would win quickly and easily, or if she kept up this flirting sharade then perhaps he would just turn to her and say, forget the game, lets go. Either one would be fine in her eyes, she just didn't want to have to light up again and then leave half way through a ciggy. That would be a damn waste...

The young man continued to allow his eyes to watch her. As she shook his hand he noted that his cold touch barely affected her. Not even a look of surprise with lead him to wonder, maybe this was not something new to her. Either way it neednt have bothered him. He hated the way some people reacted to his frosty touch.
He watched her face, scanned her eyes. She simply illuminated with confidence as she stood there looking and smelling the way she did. The teasing and flirting ways toward him made it ever more difficult for him to block at certain images from his mind. He wondered, like a lot of the time..how would she taste?
Nate simply smiled as she repeated his name with a light nod of her head. Easing his hand away he lightly took ahold of the cue and prised it gently from her grip. He pushed back thoughts and took the cue from her.
Stepping upto the table he lined the cue upto the ball. Allowing his eyes to dart around the table he made his plan of attack and struck the ball. The ball zoomed across the table bounced from the right side pocket, narrowly missing it, skimmed by two balls before potting the one down the opposite end. The ball that had practically been behind his cue ball.
With a smug grin he lifted his head from the table and narrowed his eyes toward Sidney "Are you sure you want to play me?" Nate grinned once more. He would make sure that he won, he always did.

Sidney smirked broadly as he stepped up to her, prising the cue from her hand. Her stature was confident, maybe a little cocky, guys like this one, usually responded well to that. Which was a good thing, because she couldn't really play it any other way. Other than stone cold bitch. But not many guys liked that so much. They liked a challange, they liked fiestyness, but they needed to know that they could get what they wanted, brick walling them made them feel it was a waste of their time... She watched Nate approach the pool table and take his shot. Sid remained leant against the wall, just watching him play his impressive shot. Yeah he was probably going to win this one. But thats how she would plan it anyway... "Are you sure you want to play me?"His grin made her smirk in reply. This was too easy. She stepped up to the table, beside him, she leaned across the table, careful not to nudge any of the balls as she grabbed her bottle of beer from the opposite site. "Well..." She pretended to ponder, as she downed the rest of the bottles contents. "We could just forget about the game, call it draw and get out of this dump. Although you don't look like a man who like to compromise..." She said with a raised eyebrow and a smirk firmly planted across her lips as she remained beside him. His stature still leant across the table giving him a nice view of her stomach, the skin of which was just tantilisingly slightly on show between where her jeans ended and her shirt began... tag: Nathaniel words: 308 comments: soz its a tad short

His eyes remained on the young brunette woman as she made her way beside him. He didnt take his gaze from her for one moment, she was far to tempting for him to do such a thing and she knew this was the case. The way she moved on over to him and took a place against the table. He could see that she was certainly playing him and it was most definitely working.
"Well..."
Nate viewed as she took the bottle to her lips again and downed the remaning liquid from inside. He stayed in his place, leaned over the table, arm out holding the cue but his head slightly up. His eyes just watching her and her every movement, carefully.
"We could just forget about the game, call it draw and get out of this dump. Although you don't look like a man who like to compromise..."
Taking aback by her ways. Nate turned his head slightly to the side. Inhaling deep he bit the inside of his cheek, pondering on her suggestion. Though he'd be a stupid idiot to refuse such a plan. Licking his lip lightly he drew his head toward her again.
There she was still in that same spot, teasing him somewhat with everything she could and her body simply took the biscuit for him. It was only a little bit of skin but enough for her to work with. Grinning he stood upright and slowly placed the cue down onto the table.
"Where did you have in mind?" Nate simply questioned her smothly. His tone was soft, nothing to forceful..he wasnt like that. The type of guy to go crazy when a woman made a pass at him. God he hated those men. The desperate kind who'd happily leap on the first set of breasts that strolled on toward them. He had standards..he was sort of picky you could say. But this girl, yeah, she ticked all of his boxes.

She had his attention, she knew that much. She eyed him as he slowly straightened up, placing the cue carefully on the table. Sidney smirked as he stood beside her, quite close, but not invading her personal space too baddly.
"Where did you have in mind?"
Win. Sidney carefully placed the empty bottle on the edging of the pool table behind her without looking, her eyes wouldn't leave the guys features. Yeah, this one hadto be a vamp... She could feel herself becoming moreand more attracted to him, dispite her rational fighting it every step of the way. It was unusual for a Vampire to have such a hold on her. No. He didn't have a hold. Not ultimately. She still had a job to do, and tonight was not going to be her last night as a human. That was Not part of the plan...
"All I have is my car outside." She nodded towards the door, "How about your place?" She asked, bouncing her eyebrows once, in a mischievous manner...
So here was the plan. They would leave together, and either drive to Nate's place, or walk. If they walked, Sid would just have to 'grab her jacket' from the car. Grabbing her jacket, she would also be arming herself with an array of tactical weapons. Stakes, guns, knives.. There was a selection... She would rejoin Nate and they would walk to his place or get far enough away so that there were far enough away from any civilisation so that they would not be seen by any unfortunate passers by... This is all, of course on the pretense that Nate had not attacked her first yet... Then she would strike. Quickly, and silently, without warning. Stake him straight in the heart andpoof! thats another one down. Then this rediculous lust filled illusion would evaporate and Sidney would stroll casually back to her car, whilest she lit up that second cigarette of the evening. That was the plan...

"All I have is my car outside." Sidney shared.
Nate glanced over his shoulder and toward the door where she had pointed. He wasnt entirely sure if this was a good idea, him going off with her like this. Though, Nate had complete faith in himself and knew that he wouldnt pop a vein, he was setting himself up at the end of the day. Placing himself up against temptation made it harder to avoid giving in.
"How about your place?" She asked, bouncing her eyebrows once, in a mischievous manner...
The young man turned his eyes back to her. His eyes viewed as she looked mischevious in her ways. She was far to tempting to just knock back, besides this charade of flirting for the duration of the time couldnt and wouldnt be knocked back by him. He had complete control of himself, he believed that no harm would be done to her. None at all.
Stepping backward he inched toward the door "Well that sounds like a plan" Nathaniel grinned. The young man extended his arm ahead of him and held his hand out for hers to help her off of the table.
Turning his head he glanced over at the bar t othe blonde whom he'd gave most of his cash to, to keep him covered with drink for the night "Oi darlin, you save that for next time" instructed Nate as he set his sights back onto Sidney again.
Nathaniel stepped forward a few paces toward the exit. Pulling the door open he held it and extended his hand outward motiong for her to leave "If you dont mind us walking. It's not to far from ere" shared Nate as he took another cig from his pocket letting the door swing shut behind him.

Sidney smirked as he agreed to the plan unfortunately for him, their plans differed in their motives... Watching him take a small step backward and offer his hand to her, Sidney eyed his icey hand for a moment, before she accepted the offer and took his hand and helping herself from the table, leaving the discarded beer bottle on the table as they both made their way towards the exit...
She smirked at the barmaid as Nate threw a comment about 'next time' at her... No next time, this time...Sidney walked through the door as he held it open for her, "If you dont mind us walking. It's not to far from ere" Stepping out into the crisp fresh air, Sidney glanced at Nate as he joined her outside. "Yeah, just give me a sec, I'll grab my jacket." She said casually, before she departed from the young man and quickly strolled up to her car. There was a loud 'click' sound as she opened the back door, grabbing a none descript black jacket from the back seat and putting it on, before she slammed it shut and made her way back over to the Vamp...
"Alright." She smirked as they began their walk towards Nate's place and quickly they left the already quiet streets, moving into more quieter areas of the neighborhood. "So," She spoke up though a little quieter now, to avoid drawing any unwanted attention to themselves, "What do you do?" She asked, smirking at the prospect of whatever flamboyant lies were surely about to leave the young mans lips.

Nathan watched as she moved over to her car once they'd left the bar. She had to get her jacket, it was pretty cold out. Not that he'd have noticed since he didn't really get affected by temperature, of course if it was heat then he'd know about it.
The young man hated the hot weather, it made him narky. Not that he'd burst into flames in humid weather nor sun, no he was lucky like that he was still able to roam in the day it just made him highly irritable.
Sidney shortly arrived back at his side armed with her coat. With a smile he dug his hands into his jacket pockets and moved at a steady pace beside her. He didn't walk to briskly as it would appear he was eager to get her back to his place and that really wasn't the case at all. There was no rush.
"What do you do?"
Turning his head to the left side of him where she stood Nathaniel pondered in his own thoughts. What did he do? wow..he didn't do much come to think of it. Not really anyway. He didn't have any hobbies besides sitting the bars and playing pool. He used to play sports, he used to play guitar, he used to love art but now he seemed to not have much care for such things.
It was as if being changed into this..creature had taken all of his passions and aspirations away along with his pulse and appetite. He pondered a little longer until realizing it had taken him fairly a long time to answer her.
Cracking a smile he shrugged some "Not much really. I'm not working right now, well not really. I guess you could say i was kind of lazy. You know a real..drag down upon society" he gave a light chuckle.
Turning to her he grinned "What about you Sidney?" he didn't want to talk about himself. He didn't have much to say on the topic.
