It was an average day. Average being, well, a little less than good but things were looking up for at least this short moment in time. University graduate, Chloe Matthews had her first day working at Sullivan & Cooper P.I. today. How many people could delightfully say they worked with a Private Investigation company! The excitement, the gossip and the drama fill days! Oh, she couldn't wait to be a receptionist...The sarcasm ran through her mind as she headed towards the office building she was to be working within.
Chloe was working in an office not because that was her life long dream and not because she wasn't intelligent but because she really didn't think she was ready to face the big bad world yet, not with the way she'd been recently. The blonde was seriously considering she was suffereing from some form of pre mid-life crisis at this time, if only that was a plausable excuse. But what was wrong with her? What had been wrong with her in the past year in fact? She'd been feeling things lately...things that weren't her own, emotions; fear, panic, unexplainable overly chipper happiness, it was strange and somewhat unreal but she couldn't deny what she felt. Whatever it was it was very much present and very real...even if it was only in her head, an abnormality in her system? But really, it wouldn't surprise the girl if she turned out to have some serious life concerning psychological problems that she was too blind and in denial of to analyse herself. Her past wasn't exactly PG-13 rated. At a young age both her parents had died - not at the same time but what did that matter? They were both gone, if anything it was more tragic having to lose one and then years later when family life was starting to have some form of hope, was shattered and taken from you completely...effectively destroyed. At eight years old, Chloe's mother was murdered before her and the young girl had believed that all sorts of monsters had killed the only remaining family she had. Since then everything had spiralled downwards until it couldn't seem to go any further. But then she'd turned her life around, at least enough to carry on with her life, to make something of herself like her parents would have wanted. University had changed the young graduate, meeting new people, starting fresh and no long having to move around foster home after foster home. She'd become more social again having locked herself away from the world for so long, though still hiding what truly did bother her from most people she met, even her friends didn't know Chloe completely. Sure she may distance herself and the blonde knew fine well that wasn't the best attitude to portray for the long term but right now that was where she was comfortable and that was where she would stay until she figured herself and her life out.
Walking on Chloe headed up towards the office, gazing up at the architecture, taking in every small detail before her, it was very much a habit of hers, often too much of a habit at times even. Detail was something she noticed, always had since her parents had died, she'd obsessed over it to an extent and having studies detail at university her obsession had only grown, just she learned when best to speak. Eyes scanning over the building and it's surrounding she was up against the doorway before she knew it. Standing outside she collected her thoughts. She had to do this. She needed a job and it was the only one she'd heard back from for weeks. If she wanted to stay here in San Francisco she needed a job, she had no where else to go and no one else to go running to for help. She was on her own.
With a deep breath she pushed open the door and headed inside. Black heels clicked lightly on the polished floor as she made her way through the quiet office building, "Hello?" she called softly not wanting to seem rude on her first day of work. Someone was here, she knew it, how she was unsure but she'd come to trust this strange over powered sense she had around people. Light clicking noises continued as she stepped up to the front desk peering over but there was no one there, seemed they really did need her as an employee. "Hello?" she tried again, this time a bit louder, "I'm here for an office job?...Chloe?...Chloe Matthews..." she called out wondering if they'd forgotten about her or if this was a scam. It had been a strange job offer after all. She'd answered an add posted online and found herself being asked to come in to work for this strange company that little people knew about, including herself.

It had been six months since the opening of Sullivan & Cooper. Things had been relatively moderate during the first 3 months or so of opening. Which had really caused a means of diligence for Nick. Believing that maybe investing in such a place had been a bad move. However, thanks to Megan's gaudily thought out plan of advertising..things were beginning to to look up.
Over the past few months a good number of applicants had been interested in positions at S&C. Unfortunately, not everyone could make the cut for all sorts of reasons. But, one candidate appeared to fit the bill, one thing that Nick registered was that she wasn't a complete crackpot like some of the other candidates they'd had. As soon as you mentioned the word supernatural or paranormal to most they all reacted similar. Either running out of the door or going all ghost buster on his ass.
Chloe Matthews. She'd applied for the position of receptionist, the job that Meg seemed to be partaking whilst along with other jobs around the office. Poor girl was run off of her feet. Chloe was prompt enough to get the job, as Nick saw a lot of potential from the information he had been given. They needed someone like her on the team, grounded and..well, epochal.
With mostly male habitants, it was no surprise that the office space had gotten a little..scatological. So a good purify was in order. First impressions lasted, he couldn't have this young woman walking in on her first day to a mountain of pizza boxes, scrunched up paper and beer bottles now could he?
Most of the morning had been consecrated to clearing up the mess and making the place far more presentable for there new team mate. After tidying up Nick moved back to his office where he began filing some paper work, awaiting the arrival of Chloe.
"Hello?"
The soft voice called.
Standing in his office he quickly turned his head toward the door. Through the tinted out window he observed the blonde as she moved through out the front reception area in search of life. Now, Nick wasn't aware of how Chloe looked since she applied online, he figured she was likely her since..they didn't get many visitors.
"Hello?" she called again, this time a bit louder.
With a smile Nick shut the filing cabinet drawer and began to walk across the office. Opening the door he peeped his head out before fully emerging from his room.
Upon seeing the girl in full, he noted that she was fairly young. Chloe was also of a petite build, some what short..but, most people were in comparison to himself. Either way it hardly mattered how she looked. It was her capability he was interested in.
"I'm here for an office job?...Chloe?...Chloe Matthews..."
With a friendly smile Nick walked across the reception area floor. His office was adjacent to the front doors, the front reception desk positioned to the left side of the main entrance. Clearing his throat he stopped a few feet away from her as she stood by the working space.
"Hi Chloe" he answered to the woman in a gentle manner and a delicate wave of the hand. Dropping his hands to his sides, Nick showed slight nerves. He wasn't the most confident of guys and mostly hid behind his dashing smile. Strange really, the leader of such a company and being so dire at social interaction.
Pacing some he realized his error and stepped forward. He had yet to introduce himself. With one foot forward he extended his hand to her "I'm Nick.." smiling again he shook her hand.
Descending his arms back to his side he cocked his head backward cueing toward his office "If you could follow me. We'll discuss a few things and then I'll show you around. Sound good?" he sought with a toothy grin.

In the silence Chloe took the time to look around the reception area. Quiet certainly, but it seemed nice enough. It actually made her wonder why the needed to employ staff with the silence, surely they had one person? Or had someone on their team that could do some filing and answer any phone calls? Nonetheless she wasn’t complaining having finally found a full time job in the city, if this company wanted her to work for them then that was fantastic, after all how hard could it really be? The office building was deceptive from the outside Chloe noted to herself but in a good way, it was a lot more old fashioned, polished looking with old style wooden furniture inside but had a modern feel to it with small touches here and there. She liked it. As she gazed around she felt someone as the air changed, nothing supernatural just that human instinct of knowing you weren’t alone in a room.
The blonde turned as the stranger cleared his throat for her attention, or so she just assumed. Smiling at him she look in his features instantly: taller than her but these days most people were – whatever did happen to five foot five once being the average height for a girl she’d never know because it certainly wasn’t that way anymore – but this man, he towered over her yet not in an intimidating way, he wore a friendly expression that was softened by his fair hair yet that was not what intrigued her so because regardless of his looks he was nervous. Her heart pounded in her chest as she felt it, that adrenaline surge of uneasiness from his actions. His hand made a small wave at her, his uneasiness and nerves showing in such a small movement that many may have disregarded but Chloe’s obsession over detail was present in her alerted state of being in a new environment. Smiling at him she need not say anything and replied with a, “Hi....Nice to meet you” she asked more politely than usual but this was a business and she wanted to put forth a good impression, she was young she knew that but she could be serious when she wanted to be. In fact, Chloe was far from the usual twenty-two year olds who spent the days sleeping and the evenings partying away. Maybe it was her history or maybe it was just who she was but Chloe had never been the partying type, she far preferred to stay in control of herself and in the past year, stay away from crowded places that made her feel uncomfortable.
The young man whom she presumed to be in his mid-twenties, took a step forwards extending his hand to her. A sharp intake of breath and Chloe stopped herself reacting any further. He really was rather nervous...when would this stop? Whatever it was she didn’t need it constantly and not now. These emotions that she’d been feeling were strange. She’d linked them to other people, usually those who were physically closest to her but how she was unsure. It was one of the reasons she decided not to go looking for a job in the crime or psychological field any time soon and searched for a basic job like this. Really she had no doubt that it would calm down all these feelings she just needed some time out of her studies, that’s what was affecting her she’d concluded, her constant alert and obsessive attitude, her ability to look at someone and detect how they felt, it was just an overreaction of hers and her mind was making her feel what she saw reflected from them. There was a logical explanation for it; the blonde had taught herself that there always was.
So as not to seem rude she shifted her thoughts from her mind and took the man’s hand, “Hi. I'm Chloe, but I guess you already knew that” she smiled at him. Listening to what he said she nodded her agreement, “Sure, sounds good.” She followed him across the spacious area towards a door adjacent to the front doors she’d originally entered through. As they walked Chloe blocked her temptation to enquire more about the company, their website or anyone she spoke to only had vague comments on the place but as far as she knew they were successful in whatever it was they done, they wouldn’t be hiring if they didn’t. But something was rather strange about the privacy but in their defence the company had only been open with property since six months ago, however, they were a private investigation company, maybe it just came with the territory? She’d ask later she decided. Asking a question that conveyed her ignorance of Sullivan and Cooper P.I. was probably not the best thing to do less than ten minutes after her arrival.

“Hi. I'm Chloe, but I guess you already knew that” she smiled at him.
Nick continued to smile and following a gentle hand shake soon bought his arms back to his sides again.
He wasn't sure why he was so nervous at the time. Saying this, Nick always had a set of sensitivity about him. He'd been like that for sometime now which was half the reason why Kris was his 'partner in crime'. Kris oozed confidence, sometimes a little too much but he was capable of keeping Nick on his toes. Which was good to have around.
“Sure, sounds good.”
With yet another friendly smile. Nick began to lead back to his office.
"So Chloe.." he began "I'm aware that when you applied for this job that, a lot of details were provided." stated Nick glancing at her as he pushed the office door open.
He spoke in an attempt to get her to tell him what exactly caused her to apply for the job. Rather then just asking her out right and putting her on the spot.
Holding it for her to enter he shortly closed the door behind them. Motioning to the seat in front he then quickly moved around the desk, taking his own seat on the other side.
"If you have any questions. I'd be happy to answer them" Nick stated sitting forward some in his seat.
He was glad that today was so quiet. That the others were all off gallovanting, doing god knows what. Cause, business was quiet right now so fluttering around the office, looking for things to to had really been left down to just him.
Though he had to admit that having Kris around about now would help a great deal. He was more so the personality of the team, he was the people person, drew them all out of there shelves.
But, on the other hand he also appeared to cause certain individuals to feel unsettled. He was a big guy. Loud..sometimes obnoxious and that at first take really put people off. It made them uneasy and destroyed any hope of them staying around to uncover the Kris's true side.

“I provided a lot of details yes...a lot more than I expected from an office job” she commented truthfully, “but the company brief was really vague from what I got. But then receptionist jobs are all pretty similar: filing; answering phones; making coffee” she smiled jokingly then realised as an afterthought that maybe making coffee was part of the job description...maybe she shouldn’t laugh just yet. Really, if it wasn’t for her needing a job so badly she would likely have disregarded the application altogether at the length of it and the strange questions that were asked. What struck her as odd was how the questions never built up to something about what this company was or even what they specialised in; all details were very vague. Her university application had consisted of less information yet she’d never applied to work with a P.I. before, she considered it was a usual specification to work somewhere that privacy was often a key ingredient. Regardless it was strange to be asked so many questions without meeting face to face and more specifically the questions asked; any unusual tendencies or unexplainable events in her life, which of course knowing how crazy she may seem, she skimmed by on some of the rather important details of her life. Maybe one day in the past Chloe would have written down an essay on her own life but she knew better now, everything had an explanation and all could be solved with reasoning, plus she hadn’t got the job here by sounding like a complete lunatic. “I know you’re not a regular sales company or something like that but I’ve never filled in such a unique application for an office position” she commented curiously choosing her words carefully hoping not to be fired on her first day here.
Giving him a smile of ‘thank you’ as her opened the door she headed into the office room of Nick’s. Chloe sat down on the seat Nick motioned to, watching him from the corner of her eye as he moved around the desk and sat down on the other side within her view. He sat forwards in his seat; so it wasn’t one of those formal intimidating first days, that was nice to know and she immediately felt more relaxed at that knowledge. Any questions? he’d asked her. She had many but no matter how informal this meeting was she was unsure if it was appropriate for her to voice them or not, maybe she was assumed to know the answer to them already? Had she missed something in the job description? Now she was paranoid as she racked her brain for all she already knew of Sullivan & Cooper but nothing shot immediately to mind, not even glimmering somewhere forgotten in the distance, “Well...I was wondering...” she hesitated before finalising why not ask? If she was going to be working here she really needed to know what she was doing and who she was working for no matter how naive she was about to sound, “What exactly do you do here? I mean, I know you’re a P.I. – private investigations – but is it just generalised? Or specified to something? I admit I couldn't find much about the company but i'm a fast learner” defending her aloof statement she tried to sound polite worrying that she may sound too intruding but she was curious and he had asked if she had questions.

“but the company brief was really vague from what I got. But then receptionist jobs are all pretty similar: filing; answering phones; making coffee”
Nick gave a light chuckle as Chloe recited the duties of a typical receptionist. Though most of this duties would fall under the role, she wasn't about to become the caffeine bitch of the office. There was a coffee and vending machine at hand for a reason. A kind of help yourself if you will. She would not be running around making coffee for anyone, he'd see to that. "You seem to know what you're talking about. But you wont be making coffee and doing donut runs for the other's, i can assure you of that" Nick stated positively. It wasn't the receptionists job to provide such services. Maybe in other places yeah but not here, everyone was equal.
“I know you’re not a regular sales company or something like that but I’ve never filled in such a unique application for an office position” Chloe commented and she was exactly right.
On the job description itself they hadn't been so forthcoming in regards to information. They found that as soon as candidates saw the word's supernatural or paranormal it played they instantly became wary of submitting there applications hence why responses were so little. Nick gave a gentle nod as she spoke. He knew that her first question would be based around the lack of information, most were. Then, came the running out of the door part.
“Well...I was wondering...” she hesitated.
Nick rose a curious brow but he expected what was to come. He sat there comfortably in his seat. His body language showing anything bur formal, he wished for her to be comfortable in the environment and not feel at all under pressure by himself or the situation in hand. If she was going to be apart of this team she needed to play it cool. Another thing he would look for. Her reaction toward anything he said, if she panicked she wouldn't fit in here..but something told him she'd be fine.
“What exactly do you do here? I mean, I know you’re a P.I. – private investigations – but is it just generalized? Or specified to something? I admit I couldn't find much about the company but I'm a fast learner”
With a friendly grin Nick sat back casually in his seat. He watched Chloe carefully, debating over what type of person he thought she may be. Would she be open minded? or completely rejecting to the words he was about to spit out?. He'd hoped she'd be the open minded kind but sitting here contemplating would get him no where. He out to come out and say it to get what he wanted.
"Well, we take on most cases. We don't like to be specific in any type as we want a broad variation and for us to also be inviting to all types of people-" Nick shared but shortly paused. Clearing his throat he sat forward again "However, we differ to other organizations because..we offer a..unique kind of service to our clients.." Nick continued. He kept his eyes on her more so now that he was coming to the big finale. Clasping his hands tightly together he finished with a question "Do you believe or associate with paranormal phenomenon?" asked Nick raising a slight brow.

“You seem to know what you're talking about. But you wont be making coffee and doing donut runs for the other's, i can assure you of that"
Well it was all common sense right? The duties of a receptionist and even the job really, as long as you could answer a phone, possibly wing your whole way through a conversation if no one was around, and knew your alphabet for filing then you’d be fine she suspected...she hoped. Still, she wasn’t about to defend against what he’d said. No coffee runs, brilliant she considered relieved. It wasn’t that she’d have minded being someone’s skivvy as long as she was getting paid, it was just she’d rather not have that belittling job requirement. “Brilliant, more donuts for me then” she joked absentmindedly then realised that now might not be the best moment to start making jokes, but then maybe it was? Chloe smiled as she watched Nick, subconsciously analysing his behaviour, a bad habit she’d picked up though at times it did come in handy.
Nick sat back in his seat, was her simple question that complicated? That extensive an answer maybe? He watched her and she watched him back with a soft expression on her face, concealing her feelings of intrigue at what he was contemplating in this momentary silence. He finally answered her and she felt his uncertainty from him as he spoke, fighting hart to disregard it’s power over her. Paying half attention to how she felt she was only partly listening to Nick though all the while trying not to let that information show on her profile. ‘A unique kind of service’ she perked up alert again at that phrase. How unique could a P.I. get? It was all basically the same idea right? Intrigued she looked at him. He clasped his hands and she tilted her head a little to the side waiting for what he was about to enlighten her with on the company...
Did she what?...
Paranormal phenomenon? Where did that come from? Did she associate with it? Well, that was debatable. She had once but she was just a kid, she’d just lost her mother and her memory wasn’t clear, of course she was going to think up some wild paranormal monster concept, but she knew different now, she'd grown up. Sitting back in her seat she never tore her eyes away from him. Was he serious? She felt he was...no he looked like he was, she told herself as she confused herself in the unexplainable. Chloe just started at him for a moment thinking of how to reply to the question posed, “I don’t know” she replied truthfully. For years she’d been taught of logic, reasoning and tricks of the mind but actually being asked this question outright she couldn’t say no completely. Until less than a year ago she would have simply replied ‘no’ but things had changed, she’d changed and she was still trying to either trying to find some logical explanation or convince herself she needed some help before she drove herself insane. “You mean like ghosts and werewolves and all things horror movie? Or am I completely missing the point here?” she asked cautiously unsure what he was trying to imply. Was he being literal or was she having a blonde moment and had completely misunderstood him?

Lazily kicking the body of the young man out of her way, sending it flying into the wall of the alley way and falling limply to the ground, Azlyn sighed, "Booring!" She moaned. that kill really wasn't worth the hassle. Humans just weren't as sturdy now-a-days. One little punch and their necks just snap! Azlyn concluded that the humans must be evolving into creatures with no backbone, accounting for their weak physical and emotional state of being.
She stepped out into the street, momentarily forgetting to remove the blood from her face and clothes, but quickly remembered when a woman screamed in her face before running off in a panicked fury. Azlyn rolled her eyes and smirked a little, before she waved her hand over her face and across her body, causing the stains of the man in the alley way to vanish from sight. Azlyn took a deep breath of fresh air.. ew .. before striding off down the street in search of something more entertaining.
Azlyn wasn't very careful in keeping her demonic powers hidden. If anyone saw her use them, she would usually kill them for fun anyway. Suddenly she heard the thoughts of someone, they were thinking about something rather interesting. "Do you believe or associate with paranormal phenomenon?" Hmm Paranormal phenomenon? That was an interesting topic of conversation. Azlyn pondered whether she qualified as a 'paranormal phenomenon' for a breif moment. “You mean like ghosts and werewolves and all things horror movie? Or am I completely missing the point here?”
A smirk slithered across the demon's human like features as she heard the responce to the question. "I think it's time to clarify the point" She said amusedly out loud, attracting some strange looks from passers by on their way to work, who had happened to notice the strange young woman seemingly talking to herself.
And then she was gone from the sidewalk. And instead she was in an office type room. Azlyn glanced around the room. In front of her was the man whose thoughts she had heard first, she was behind him, so he couldn't see her just yet, the girl though, the girl was right in her sights and Azlyn was in hers... The smirk remained firmly planted as she raised a finger to her lips and mimed a 'Shh' motion to the young blonde, she then winked, mischeivously at the girl, before Azlyn apparently and instantly exploded into millions of black particles, all following suit, beneith the chair with the man on, beneith the desk they were both seated around to the back of the girls chair and disolving straight into her back.
Azlyn was about to have some fun. Opening her eyes, Azlyn suddenly felt that the girl had a gift. mmm Empath, uncontrolled though... She looked out from the young blondes eyes, She could see the man across from her for the first time. "Arn't you just a dish?!" Azlyn exclaimed as the girl. Peering over at the desk between them, Azlyn could see many papers and files littered across the wooden surface. Too neat. She quickly lashed out with her arms, swipeing across the desk sending the filed everywhere and anywhere, "Oh no, I sent your shit flying!" Azlyn giggled psychotically before she released her hold on the young girl. just for a moment, though still remained within her mind for the moment.

“You mean like ghosts and werewolves and all things horror movie? Or am I completely missing the point here?”
Nick let out an anxious filled chuckle as Chloe responded. Yeah, it certainly sounded so messed up and impossible but Nick had seen these ghosts, werewolves and other things that surfaced in simple horror movies. He half awaited for her to burst out laughing at his question but because of the simple fact she hadnt meant that she was subject to acceptance. Which was a pro..
He'd been rubbing his neck a little anxiously. Feeling hot under the collar. Man, he hated having to reveal all these factors..they really should have included them in the job description. "Well, i guess so yes" Nick responded looking somewhat worse for wares. He'd now expected the young woman to arise from her seat and bound out of the office door.
Dropping his hands to the desk he gave another friendly smile, but the nerves showed "I know it sounds crazy, ill-logical and i thought that too, once..but i've seen far to many unsolved and suspicious cases to think just simply logic. With how things stand right now. You have to be open minded" Nick shared his thoughts regarding the matter.
Falling silent he bowed his head some. He wondered whether this girl was really up for the role or would she run out on him. Lifting his head for the final time he turned his eyes to her. Tilting his head to the side he smiled a forced smile to cover up concer "So Chloe, what do you say..are you still interested?" questioned Nick his eyes never leaving her.
"Arn't you just a dish?!" Azlyn/Chloe exclaimed.
Nick's eyes fell slightly wide as he was quite taken aback by the girls sudden words. Letting out a half nervous slightly shy chuckle he rubbed his neck again. That was perculiar, he hadnt expected her to be so..up front?
He found himself lost for words. But, soon that didnt matter as what she did next gripped his attention for the second time. Chloe launched her arms forward, batting the files from his desk all across the office. Nick actually found himself jump up out of his seat as the papers traveled through the air.
"Oh no, I sent your shit flying!"
Nick had a wary look on his face. Lowering his head lightly he became cautious and spoke gently toward the woman who now actually seemed like a nut job "Are you okay?" he asked with some concern.

Yes? Yes being that he was referring to all things horror movie? Okay...She watched him, his heightening nervousness as this conversation progressed, she wondered why he was the one getting nervous here but then this topic would make anyone leave right about now, but her, she was intrigued by what he had to say. Right, so he was telling her this horror movie stuff existed and that they dealt with those cases? Part of her reasoned against everything he was saying yet she couldn’t deny how comfortably she felt at accepting the concept; that everything she’d found ways to explain in her life was not a cause of illusion or hysteria but simply as it was. Why she was believing this she had no idea but maybe part of her had always still believed, especially after the past year she’d been having, it would definitely explain some issues but she wasn’t sure if she was completely ready to face what that really entailled.
"So Chloe, what do you say..are you still interested?"
“This sounds so – “ she broke off abruptly. Chloe had only blinked and suddenly a woman was standing behind Nick. Light hazel eyes clocked onto her, were her eyes deceiving her? Had this paranormal topic played too much with her mind? She was taking it all too literally and was now seeing things? Great, of all the places to lose her mind and here it was in front of a potential employer! “Nick, I – “ she stopped as the woman behind Nick motioned her to ‘shh’ and winked. Was this some kind of set up? Was Nick some employer that got a kick out of messing with people’s heads? Surely not but then if that wasn't the case, what was going on? The blonde had barely any time to consider the logic because this woman literally exploded into a swarm of black particles. Chloe was left looking completely baffled. Maybe she was dreaming. Pre first day jitters had gotten to her and corrupted the worries in her mind, mixing with her past and this topic of all things unnatural...that sounded plausible...sort of...okay, not really.
A sharp intake of breath then – Blackout.
Her eyes opened though something was strangely different, eerie in some respects. Her body was like lead, weighted down so heavily that she was unable to move herself at all, her eye sight was like looking through a window pane, you could see everything yet there was a barrier stopping you connecting with anything, it was all just inches out of reach.
“Arn’t you just a dish?!” the words were spoken from her mouth though she had not uttered a word. Her body moved just as it should do but she was no longer in control, she had a back seat, a spectator’s position instead of being in the game. This really wasn’t good. It was only then that the words clicked with her, had she just said Nick was a ‘dish’? For one she would never use such slang as ‘dish’, did people even say that anymore?! And two he was her boss!!
Involuntarily her arms extended purposefully before her. All the blonde could do was sit and watch as she scattered files off the desk, sweeping them onto the floor. Her lips moved again and Chloe heard her voice speak again, “Oh no, I sent your shit flying!” before a psychotic and foreign giggle erupted from her turning lighter, more nervous and into her own. Chloe stared horror struck at the scene, eyeing the files and papers all over the room before sheepishly raising her head to look at Nick, a bright blush on her cheeks. “I...I....” she didn’t know how to explain what had happened. “I’m sorry, I don’t understand what came over me. Please don’t judge me on this, this isn’t me...” so then who was it? The question posed in Chloe’s mind. No one else could control her so what was it? She scanned her mind, schizophrenia would not fit, sure multiple personality disorder would seem like a plausible choice but you were rarely aware of that, she wouldn’t have watched herself through her own eyes, there was a high amount of denial in schizophrenia and she wasn’t denying anything right now! There was one explanation...“Yes...No. I don’t know” she shook her head watching him, great, he must think she was a complete crazy now, “Nick, who was that woman?” she tried having nothing else to say because she truthfully didn’t know what had come over her, the only image sticking in her mind was what she’d seen, or didn’t see, before she’d taken a crazy turn.

Azlyn cackled inwardly to herself as she watched the girl bumble out her words of ignorance to the man before her.
“Nick, who was that woman?”
Too easy. Too too easy... This was cue for Azlyn to take hold of the puppet once more and clarify the situation somewhat. The consciousness that was Azlyn zoomed forward until the girls eyes were in fact her own. Well, temporarily her own anyway. There was no way Azlyn would want to spend any prolongued amount of time residing within a human body. Filthy, stuffy things and besides, she couldn't use her other powers whilst in possession, unless of course that human held powers of their own. Which she was rapidly realising that this little blonde possessed herself. An empath. Not something that Azlyn really cared over. She could keep it, if she let her live that was...
Suddenly remembering that she was infact back in control of the body, Azlyn looked eyes with the handsome man once more, "A Woman? my my I think I'm going insane! I definately did not see a woman and quite honestly you should just ignore practically everything I say!" She said proudly, whilst making grand hand gestures in the air as she spoke.
Though she didn't like the sensations of being in a human case, Azlyn did it so often because she relished the ultimate power that it gave her. Complete control to do whatever she liked with whomever she liked. Murder, suicide, fight, humiliate, seduce... All of it was a thrill, and that was why she kept going back for more... Luckily for the young blonde she was borrowing for the moment, humiliation was the only one on the cards for the moment...
Standing up, Azlyn walked her puppet grandly outof the little office, gliding her hands serenely over the desks outside, "Hmmm..." She bounced her eyebrows as the 'dish' as she randomly picked up afew files and began to read them aloud, "Woman drowned by an unseen force, holding her under... wow, that DOES sound interesting." She said dramatically, couple with a little gasp as she nonchalently tossed the file over her shoulder, moving onto the next. "Random, unrelated suicides involving victims jumping to their deaths?" Azlyn smirked broadly, "Hah, I call those my 'party peice'" She cacked again and tossed the rest of the files in the air beforereleasing the girl once more to explain herself...

Nick stared in absolute confusion. What was going on with her?. Had he really not seen this coming?. She was..bat shit crazy. It was as if she had some form of multiple personality disorder, shifting between one to the other. If that was the case, he had to be careful with his approach. He wouldnt wish to upset her..god knows what she may do.
“I...I....” she didn’t know how to explain what had happened.
He noted the sudden confusion coming from her. Again, clear signs of a multiple personality disorder. Not that he knew much about them, only factors, what he'd read and all but so far this was his pressumption. He was cautious in his behaviour, steps and tone.
“I’m sorry, I don’t understand what came over me. Please don’t judge me on this, this isn’t me...”
Nick tilted his head slightly fixiating his eyes on her. She really had no idea what was going on with her. Silently he watched as the girl became immensely shunned by the whole ordeal. He could tell by the way she stood that she herself was now trying to figure out what was going on. She still had yetto answer his question regarding her well being.
"Yes...No. I don’t know” she shook her head indecisively.
Nervously biting onto his bottom lip, he dreaded that he'd have to call someone in to come get her. That was the last thing he wanted. Man, she'd seemed like the perfect candidate for the job aswell. He was really beginning to wonder whether his judgement was actually any good. Cause, he had sure as heck been wrong about this one.
“Nick, who was that woman?”
Lifting his head upright he narrowed his eyes right at her. Woman? what woman..he thought. Nick turned his head, his eyes wandering around the room, looking for this woman before returning to Chloe again "Woman? Chloe..urm" he paused getting slightly concerned now. With defensive hands rose, to show he wasnt going to cause any harm he stepped forward "There's no one here" Nick responded in a light whisper.
"A Woman? my my I think I'm going insane! I definately did not see a woman and quite honestly you should just ignore practically everything I say!"
Nick stepped back almost being swatted by her swinging hand gestures. Leaning back slightly he watched with wide eyes. What the hell was going on?. Opting to keep a safe distance he assured the gap between them was large, just incase.
Then she left the room. A reluctant Nick soon followed. "Hmmm..." she sounded bouncing her eyebrows at him as she viewed over some of the files. "Woman drowned by an unseen force, holding her under... wow, that DOES sound interesting." she spoke dramatically, but clearly mocking the whole thing. He watched as she tossed the files to the ground. He felt helpless, like he had nothing to really approach her with. God if only the others were here. He could do with the help right about now.
"Random, unrelated suicides involving victims jumping to their deaths?...Hah, I call those my 'party peice'
As the other files hit the ground, spilling all over the place he trailed his eyes from them to Chloe again. Something wasnt right, it wasnt right at all. Now, Nick was always the one to think logically rather then..well, delving into the other worldly stuff. However, the way things were right now and the sudden change..he began to sway in that direction.
What if she was being possessed? it was likely and all the pieces fit. Nick eyed the girl, she was different again. Her expressions, her body language. "Chloe?" he called softly, a look of sympathy within his gaze.

Insane, that was what Nick clearly thought of her, she could feel it more strongly than her own feelings right now. His uncertainty was more than clear in his body language; his cautious watch on her, his nervous reaction of biting his bottom lip, his tilting head in interest and confusion. Chloe didn’t blame him, she was as unsure as he was only this was actually happening to her and it terrified her, the lack of control she had. Really, she had no words to describe what was happening here, no explanation that made any form of sense. Before Nick could answer her, Chloe Matthews and not what other persona was taking over her physical actions, she had once again been thrown into the back seat. What the hell was going on?! There had to be some kind of logic to explain this it just wasn’t coming to mind right now. Though she had no control she could witness everything going on and everything said. The blonde wanted to scream out for help but her mouth would form no words. Desperately she wanted to shake her head, for one to deny that his statement of there being no one there was false and two, to stop him coming closer to her. His raised hands showed her that he meant no harm and Chloe would not hurt him but she wasn’t so trusting of her uncontrollable actions right now. Wishing he could do something to help her she could do nothing but watch the scene and hope that some form of sanity may glimmer in her light eyes. No form of that would shine, however, when she was forced to form foreign words again.
Her controller stood her up and walked her out of the office all the while Chloe trying to piece together what was wrong with her? A neurological imbalance? Right now she was even beginning to succumb to the idea of government chips. This was ridiculous, she must be able to regain some control, she’d been through worse than this after all, she was a strong girl. Yet no matter how hard she fought she couldn’t break free from the glass cage. Eyebrows bounced at Nick and in that moment she wished he’d do something to stop her, knock her out if he had to! Her puppeteer began reading files aloud and Chloe couldn’t help but be intrigued by the words. So all this paranormal stuff was real? No, that was completely insane and irrational...rather like her current condition but...no! that was different, there was a way to describe that...somehow. But then how was she saying all this? None of this was in Chloe’s attitude or nature and she certainly didn’t have any party pieces that consisted of throwing people to their death. The reports within the files being thrown around the room by her once again still stuck in her mind. Well, it would explain a lot.
Regardless of what she thought Chloe was unable to voice anything right now as her voice and actions were controlled by some unknown force that was staying beyond her comprehension for now. A blink and suddenly she was free again. “Chloe?” she heard her name and took no time in trying to release her words before whatever was going on happened again, “Nick!..I know you’re confused and probably think I’m some schizo crazy but I don’t understand either...I’m trying to but, please trust me, I don’t want to hurt you or trash this office or whatever...I’m not mentally insane, you have to believe me.” She half pleaded in a rushed panic. Whether this was logical or completely irrational she didn’t care right now, the theory of it she’d try warp around her mind later but right now she needed help and it looked like Nick was the only one around. At least he hadn’t run away from her yet, called the men in the white van to pick up this loonie that was her. “I’m not in control, I can see everything but I can’t do anything” frustrated with the lack of logic in this statement she spoke out loud trying to make sense of what was going on with her unusual paralytic type state. “By the way are those files all true?...You don’t have one of – actually no, nevermind, not the time” she shook her head answers could wait till later, right now she needed help and preferably not one that locked her away in a nice padded room. Chloe stopped and looked to Nick. “I am not losing my mind, I don’t think...Please help me”

“Nick!..I know you’re confused and probably think I’m some schizo crazy but I don’t understand either...I’m trying to but, please trust me, I don’t want to hurt you or trash this office or whatever...I’m not mentally insane, you have to believe me.” She half pleaded in a rushed panic.
Nick fell sympathetic again. It was clear to him that she hadnt had any control over any of this, whether it was because she simply couldnt remember due to a split personality or..that maybe something had actually gotten inside of her head. Nick wasnt one to out rule the possibilities, he'd seen enough in his time to have a complete open mind to anything and everything possible.
“I’m not in control, I can see everything but I can’t do anything”
Keeping a little distance between them (for his own safety) he really didnt wish to be batted onto the floor like the files that was for sure. He bought up his hands again, showing that he was unarmed and hadnt wished to harm her in his approach. He inched toward her trying to see her eyes. All this time he hadnt noted any change, if she was being possessed it was highly likely her eyes would change.
“By the way are those files all true?...You don’t have one of – actually no, nevermind, not the time”
He cocked his head, a half smile appearing. She was certainly now the same girl that had walked through the entrance. But, they needed to get to the bottom of this and quickly before it surfaced again. Stepping forward he placed both of his hands lightly on the sides of her arms. Bowing his head he gave another smile, to ensure that things were okay.
“I am not losing my mind, I don’t think...Please help me”
Nodding he spoke finally. His tone ws soft, understanding and somewhat sympathetic. He kept his eyes close on her's, tracing them, seeing if any changes occured. "Chloe, i think your being possessed" confessed Nick with a nervous forced smile. God, he hated having to use such terms. Possessed. It was like, hey have you seen the excorcsist? green slime..head spinning..yeah. Unbelievable.
Bringing his arms back to his sides, he watched Chloe as she stood there feeling terrible. It was a shame and he'd hoped this hadnt turned her off of the job, but at the same time it showed her that they were the real deal.
Turning on his heel. He moved toward the reception desk. Bending down behind it, he began rumaging through the cupboard below. Standing upright he had a little baggie in his hand, it was only small but bulged at the bottom. "Okay" he began moving back toward Chloe.
Nick stopped at her side and opened the bag. Kneeling on the floor he began to pour the contents out, it was salt "This should keep whatever it is from getting in your head. But, if you are crazy..it wont work" he joked glancing up at her, smiling again. When he was finished there was a perfect circle of salt around them both. Demons couldnt pass through salt, the couldnt approach it, handle it..nothing at all. Most hunters would usually put salt on the entries, exits and windows of there building. But, they'd never had a problem..it seemed until now.

Chloe noted his walk towards her, so controlled and careful like she was some kind of criminal or unstable person, but then she could be right? She certainly looked unstable to anyone who glimpsed her behaviour right now...but not Nick...he was unusually calm and not running for safety or locking her in a room somewhere. Maybe all of what he said was true? He didn’t seem freaked out in the least. His stare at her eyes made her feel slightly uncomfortable, most people would be to be honest, as she shifted her eye line away every so often then back to him relieved to finally see him almost smile at her. A small respected smile shone back at him as he placed his hands on her and his look told her he understood. What he really understood she was clueless off because this seemed madness to her. Logic said she was mad, literally mad, but for the first time she was glad that Nick didn’t seem to be one to only look for the logical reasons behind this considering she herself was one to disregard anything that had no logical meaning.
Possessed? Okay...maybe she wasn’t the mad one? Maybe this madness was just reflecting off of him? Okay that was a mad thought. “Right” she said slowly with a nod, “let’s pretend that that sounds completely feasible and I’ll worry about coming to terms with that idea later” the last thing she needed to be doing right now was worrying about finding logic in this bizarre situation. She’d give herself a headache soon if she continued trying to make light of what was going on, it would be better to just go with Nick on this. What could it hurt?..That was a good question...she’d seen the movies, maybe going along with him wasn’t a good idea after all. It wasn’t like she was vomiting pea soup or crawling up walls while bent over backwards; this alter ego was just flirtatiously irritating.
Not moving from her spot her eyes followed Nick as he left her and turned to the main desk. He returned to her with bag filled with who knows what and strangely enough Chloe was feeling less optimistic about this idea as time went on. It was salt. Well, at least, it looked like salt. Oh god, these people were the real thing, or thought they were, like something off of the CW. Wow, what was she doing here...she really did have to be insane to have come here in the first place. But for some reason a little voice in her head told her not to doubt herself...Nick didn’t seem like one of those voodoo loonies, he was just a regular guy and it wasn’t like she’d never had her beliefs...She didn’t want to pause on it.
"This should keep whatever it is from getting in your head. But, if you are crazy..it wont work"
“Damn it, I knew I should have just stayed with the doc in the asylum” she smiled hoping he didn’t take her serious. The blonde watched as he drew a perfect circle around her on the floor, “So what happens? I have to stay in the circle all my life while you bring me milk and cookies?” she joked watching Nick as he created a circle around her. Though it was completely unbelievable and just plain freaky that people believed in this she couldn’t help but think over the possibilities that this all could be real...she couldn’t deny it anymore. Well, in fact she could deny it all, leave here and never think of Sullivan & Cooper again, oooor....she could stay and find out if all this was true. For many years Chloe had convinced herself none of this was true but here she was having a circle of salt drawn around her by a guy who was claiming her to be possessed and part of her actually did believe it, or wanted to. If it was true it could explain a lot of her past, but then that wasn’t necessarily a good thing. Chloe had left the monsters behind a long time ago, was it such a good idea to open her mind up to that concept again?
