The year is 2009,
and everything has changed. It was mere months ago that Sam Winchester defeated Lilith and broke the final seal, but it might as well have been decades ago for the small town of Pine Creek, Delaware. Located Southeast of Elsmere, the town of New Babylon (recently renamed by the Resistance) has faced an influx of demonic activity. From the possession of their mayor and the deaths of many city officials, citizens have fled to other towns. Lucifer reigns supreme and there is no one to challenge him and his queen.
No one willing to give their life, anyway. Whispers are coursing through the nation of rebellion amongst those who understand, but others still are willing to lay down and accept what is happening. At the head? The boys who started the end: the Winchesters. With the help of long-time friends and those who aren't willing to bow down to the abomination, a Resistance is growing with Sam and Dean as unofficial leaders. But what of the angels?
Zachariah said God had left the building, and he and most of Heaven's hosts are reveling in the increase of faith that humanity seems to have. They are biding their time before they take out Lucifer themselves. But he's too powerful and they're too greedy. The faith that is being placed in them and their Father is false and out of necessity. It's fear of one thing transferring to another. There are others, though, who have been against his rising from the start... It only took them time to see.
With Anna Milton by his side, Castiel has risen his own Resistance. Angels who have fled Heaven are seeking them, and he has been left with a ragtag following. They look to him for answers, while he is still coming to terms with his own betrayal. With little contact with the Winchesters since the end began, the angels are forming their own army intent not only on stopping Lucifer, but on finding God and restoring Him to His throne.
