In the beginning, it was a pack like no one else had ever imagined. Exponentially bigger than any the world had yet seen, a force so large that many thought nothing could ever threaten its integrity. The wolves enjoyed several generations of peace and prosperity in their homeland, which they named Edge because of its odd terrain. Miles of tundra and sparse woods were gratefully inhabited, but the seemingly endless expanse of icy wasteland to the West were viewed as unlucky and avoided at all costs.
That is, until Rhys.
One day, seemingly out of nowhere, a strange wolf descended from the cliffs and asked to be taken to the current Alphas of Edge. They conversed throughout the entire night, and in the morning, the former Alphas left without saying a word to anyone, walking off to the East into lands unknown and leaving a seeming stranger as their heir. The new wolf was enormous, at least twice the size of even the largest pack member. Even more peculiar, it had no discernable gender, with its name, Rhys, providing no clue.
Thus began the end.
Rhys has been ruling for five years now, and its tyranny is unprecedented. Tensions are high, with every wolf suspicious of his or her packmates and no way to escape the ever-vigilant watch of Rhys and its guard. Anyone who displeases Rhys is exiled to the Ice, condemned to a life of extreme hardship in the bitter cold.
