"Yes she had" said Lawrence thinking about her. He never really had a chance to say good bye and the last memories of her that he had weren't the best. It was really bad for him, for his memories, the mental image would never fade away.
"Well ya speak like... Not very modern, do ya?" said Law not really knowing exactly how to explain it. "Like ya were pulled out from the last century, it's really weird"
"Highlander? The immortal? Ya don' know about Highlander?" said Lawrence who thought it was an amazing coincidence she was from the highlands. "Princes of the universe?"
Come on, this chick had to be really old, how could she not know about Highlander? Did she ever watch movies at all? What was her deal? She was 20 years old for ever, she was forever a teenager, she had to have seen some movies...
"Come on, ya can't tell me ya haven' seen that movie, it's a classic" said Lawrence. Then he decided to drop that theme when she asked where they were going.
"I told ya, we are goin' to the mall, get ya some decent clothes and something ta eat" he said to the girl. "Ya can't wear my stuff forever..."

Athalya looked at Lawrence when he said she wasnt speaking very modernly. "well ive allways talked like this, remember im from 1791. " Athal reminded him. She hadnt ever noticed that she still spoke like when she was young. It was frustrating to be allways 20 years old. " Nope, never watched a single movie in my life. Never had the urge to see someone play pretend on a big screen, or in a little box. Princess of the universe? who is she? And they made a movie about a immortal highlander, hmm, maybe i should have a chat with the man who made that character, he might know something that could help me." Athal said, thinking she might had to watch her first movie ever.
then he changed the subject to answer another of her questions. "Ohh yeah, the mall, gotcha, we should make me look dashing, and lure out some demons and vamps and whatever evil being who wouldnt mind having a piece of hot young innocent human woman." Athal said cringing her voice to sound more modern, which made her throat hurt somehow. Athal decided to not pay any attention to how she spoke. of the sorrow of loosing her husbond and saved her life many times. She had shared alot with him, also his shirts. And he had been allmost 2 m. tall, so his shirts was like dresses to her, and he allways liked how she looked in them. She owed that poor demon her life, and would trust him at any time. She didnt believe those who were born evil couldnt change, she had seen proof of that, and that wouldnt change no matter what Lawrence said. Maybe she could contact Zerapin and ask him if he knew the demon who killed Lawrence's family, and maybe help them find him, Zerapin was the best demon tracker she knew.

"Yeah I remember, it's just weird to hear it..." said Law knowing that he would just have to get used to that. It wasn't that bad, he was just used to girls in her 20's not talking like something out of a victorian era movie.
"Well, I don' know how much good it would do to ya" said Lawrence. "I'm pretty darn certain that Highlander wasn' based on a true story, and it's princes as in a lot of prince, not a girl princess..."
"Don' rush into thin's" said Lawrence couldn't helping but to laugh at her intent on being hip. From what she said she had been married before, just like him, so she surely knew what it was to lose a spouse.
"So, how many times have ya've been married?" asked Lawrence suddenly feeling bad for the girl. He had lost one wife and was a tragic bag of bones, he couldn't possibly imagine losing more than one. It would be hell.

Athal laughed at her misunderstanding of the prince as in many to be princesses. Then when he mentioned the movie couldnt be based on a real person Athal shook her head, knowing it might be true. Athals eyes went blank, her eyes loosing all its glow when he asked how many times she had been married. "Only once, ive been afraid to love anyone ever since, the pain was just too much, but as im a loving person ive loved several men through my life, and lost them all, it hurt just as much as when i lost my husbond." Athal told him and looked out the front window. She had tried not to love anyone, but she was just so weak and easily fell inlove. Untill she had met Zerapin, he had helped her to control her heart and close it enough to not fall in love with just any man. Athal leaned back and placed her feets on the dashboard of the truck and relaxed thinking back at all the people she had loved and lost, boyfriends, lovers, friends etc. When she thought of it she had a very good reason to be depressed, funny thing was that she wasnt depressed at all.
"If it dont bother to much, would you tell me about your wife, i already like her when she likes this smell" Athal asked taking in the smell of his deoderant, that was on her body. Athal looked at him, trying to read his face to get an idea of who he was.

"Yeah well once is enough they say" said Lawrence who missed his wife a lot, although actually he knew that he was living a completely different life, he was a completely different person, she would have hated him like this, set in a path of revenge. Going from town to town shooting stuff.
It seemed like forever ago now that she had died, but he kept the eyes on the road and kept on driving the truck, trying to find a damn mall for them to shop at.
Then she asked about his wife, she was stepping into dangerous territory without even knowing it. It wasn't her fault though, it wasn't her fault she had died, although she was also supernatural, like the demon. If the supernatural didn't exist perhaps she would still be alive, he wouldn't know about any of this and he would still be taking care of his farm.
"My wife was the best thin' that ever happened to me" said Lawrence. "Until a demon son of a bitch possessed her and made her kill my parents... And then I had to kill her to defend myself... She was the best thin' in my life and I killed her"
He didn't like talking about this at all. "All because I didn't know then... That I could get the demon out of her, that's why I do this, so I make sure that what happened to me doesn' happen to someone else"

Athal could see from the look in his eyes and the tone in his voice he didnt want to talk about that subject so she tried to find another subject to talk about, but failed. She decided to just look out the window and go through her thoughts for a while, maybe silence would be good at that moment. Athalya looked out the window at the city and then spotted a small mall on a corner. " thers a small mall there, maybe we can find something there." Athalya said to Lawrence who still looked rather mad. Athalya was feeling sorry for mentioning to want to know more about his wife and it hurt her. She didnt like to make people sad at any cause, it just hurted her to do so. She felt awfull and her mind went back to Zerapin, he would know what to do to make her feel better. He knew her and understood her, he loved her for being such a good person, and thought it made him a better person, or a good demon to just be around her. She blushed as she remembered the more intimate times they had shared, knowing he understood her completely. She had opened up to him in any way, and helped her do research on immortal humans. They had been a great team untill he had to leave her. He had to go somewhere to hunt more dangerous demons and didnt want to risk her life doing so. So they had parted, Athalya sitting there, tears rolling down her cheeks and saw him ride his way on his own horse. Athalya was so deep in her thoughts she hadnt noticed that the memory had made tears roll down her cheeks. She just sat there and remembered every time she had shared with Zerapin, and she knew deep in her heart that he could never be evil even tho he was a demon. He was her best friend. When she got some cash she would find a phone booth and call him, he had given her a phone number to call if there ever was any emergency with her, and breaking her heart by thinking of memories sure felt like an emergency for her. So there she sat, in a truck with a man she had barely known for more than a few hours, and thought about a demon, her best friend, and tears slowly rolling down her cheeks.

Suddenly the road turned quiet as the chatty girl seemed to be lost on her own thoughts, not that Lawrence wasn't like that himself. He had been sent to a trip down memory lane and he didn't like that, not one bit.
Then she mentioned there was a mall up ahead and he took notice. "Looks like it, yeah" he said as he started driving there. Driving in silence wasn't that good, it only made him more depressed.
"Ya didn' do 'nything wron'" said Lawrence. "I just don't like ta talk 'bout it, it's still too fresh on my mind, I hope ya understand"
Now the girl was apparently crying and Lawrence felt bad for making her feel bad, so he simply kept on driving and parked the car outside a small outlet mall. They had a bunch of stores and Law knew they were bound to find something for the girl. Maybe get her a bag pack and some extra clothes.
He got out of the truck and waited for her to come out. The first store they would hit was one with clothing for all the family, he knew woman, immortal or not they all took damned too long when shopping.
"Let's see what we find for ya" said Lawrence as he started walking towards the store.

Athalya hadnt noticed they stopped untill she heard the car door. She got out and noticed only then the tears rolling down her cheeks. "Sorry about that, old memories brought tears back to my eyes" Athal said. She started to follow him to the familly store untill she noticed a little darker store next to it. She impulsively started walking towards it, she felt somewhat drawn to it. She entered the store and looked around. There were alot of leather clothings inthere, and Athalya immediatly fell in love wiht a pair of skin tight leather pants, pulled them from the shelf and went to try them on, and to her happiness they fit perfectly. She continued to look around the store and found 3 white mideval shirts, nice and baggy in the sleeves. Then she found a black leather corsage and it all fit perfectly, then she found some high heeled biker leather boots. She took a look in the mirror and smiled to herself. "Im back" She giggled and twirled around. She took it all off and told the lady behind the counter to watch after it, and that she would be right back. She walked outside and found a dispenser. She walked over to it and pretended to put a card in it and press some numbers. She used her power to move the mechanics around, causing it to give a small stack on 100 dollar bills. She smiled to herself and walked back to the store, not noticing where Lawrence was at. She walked over to the counter and smiled to the lady. She paid for it all, grabbed the bags and walked outside the store and stood there and looked around. She found what she was looking for, a public toilet to change. She changed into the leather pants, the mideval shirt and the leather corsage. She put on the boots and held Lawrence shit in her hand and the bag with the other new clothes in her hand and walked out to find lawrence. She had never been one for shopping for hours, she liked to get it overwith quickly.

"So... that would be all Mr...." said the cashier as she looked at the credit card. She couldn't spell the name, or maybe she just didn't think the name was right in the first place. "Mr. Yamaguchi?"
"That's me" said Lawrence taking some brand new hat out of the bag and putting it on. "My daddy was Korean, thanks to god I look like my momma, rest her soul in peace"
The cashier looked at him strangely as he took the bags. He took the voucher and signed in as Yamaguchi, taking the bags from the lady that kept on looking him weirdly. "Thanks ma'am" said Law as he took the bags and started searching for the girl, she wasn't around here anywhere, where the hell was she? How was he supposed to pay for her clothes when she wasn't around?
He went to the dressing room and try to find her without any luck, getting a few angry looks from women changing and trying some clothes. "Don' give me that look lady, ya ain't that hot" said Lawrence as he was pissed off and walked out of there. After 30 minutes of searching for her he started walking towards his truck. "God damn woman... She stole my freakin' shirt..." he said muttering under his breath as he realized she was outside, using some really weird outfit, she looked out of one of them geek games that Ozzy Osbourne advertises, the old slag.
"Well ya can' do anythin' normal can ya?" said Lawrence as he saw her. "Ya do know that wearin' that is not fittin' in right? We ain't going sailin' nor peachin' a bank for some gold coins"
After commenting on her outfit he simply took his bags and put them on the back of the truck, he needed some new personal stuff anyway last time he had bought any had been at a gas station like two months ago, and killing shit usually meant ruined outfits.

Athal leaned against his truck as she saw Lawrence come walking out of the mall. Then he made some pirate kind of comment about her clothes. "Just to tell you, ive got certain looks and offers for the last 20 minutes ive been standing outhere, and none of them was bad." Athal said and shook her head. She started to pull the outfits out of the shopping bags, and nitly placed them in a black bag she had gotten in another shop. What the hell is wrong with my outfit. I walked around for a 150 years in these kind of clothings and no one, litteraly no one had made any cheesy comment about it. It was easiest to walk around in clothings like this, when you went out to kill demons and vampires. The leather pants could easily be washed off and the same with the rest. I wear it out of practical reasons. What the heck was his problem now. Athal thought to herself as she angrily put everything in her bag. She threw Lawrence shirt into the backseat and turned around, grabbed her bag and started walking. "Im going to find a river or lake or something to shower in." She said to Lawrence as she walked past him. On the way she would stop at a phone booth and call Zerapin, to see if he had any news about her parents killers.

Of course she'd get comments like that, leather pants made anyone's ass look marvelous. She was just too old for the world now he guessed. But whatever, apparently she was now pissed at him and was about to wander off again.
He sighed and rolled his eyes, he couldn't stop her, she could do whatever the hell she wanted. After all he just met her, but whatever if she wanted to be stubborn that was her prerogative.
"I'm only goin' to say this once, because I'm not your nanny, and we just met" said Lawrence as the girl started to walk away. "But there is a nice shower at my motel, and I was plannin' to go get some drinks right now, so if ya wanna use it while I'm gone ya're welcome to it"
"And that was a pretty damn silly thin' to get pissed about" said Lawrence. "But whatever, I'm not your father, I'll wait in the car for ten seconds, if ya don' enter in that time I'll drive away and ya'll probably never see me again, your choice"
With that he got into the car and started the engine, willing to wait the time he promised, but if she wanted to be stubborn and take a shower in a damn river he wasn't about to stop her. He had lived the last 5 or 6 years of his life without anyone else, and he could stay that way indefinitely.

Athalya looked at Lawrence as he mentioned a shower at his motel and she could see that he was annoyed about her reaction. Then he gave her ten seconds to get into the car and she quickly made the descision. "Okay, im gonna take you up on that offer, only cuz i have no where to go or have no idea if there is a river nearby, and the fact that i havent been in a warm shower for something around 40 years now. And im sorry i reacted that way, im just not used to people saying my clothings are silly. And no worry, i got clothes that you would find normal. I just use clothings like this went hunting." Athal said as she got in the car. She placed her bag at her feets and looked at Lawrence, "But i will respect it if you ask me to leave you alone. I can only agree with you if you think im a pain in the neck, i hear that alot." Athal told him giving him a trying smile, hoping he wasnt too mad at her. She looked out the front window as they drove somewhere she didnt know. This day had been more interesting and frightening than her life in the past 20 years, and she was amased that she had actually spendt this much time with a stranger. "Did you credit card fraud work? I found out i could pull moneys out of a dispenser by moving some of the mechanics in it around. If i only had known that many years ago, then i would never had been in that horrible fashion state i was today when we met. I had first planned to shut down all electricity in the mall and just quickly grab some clothes, but i decided to try this way first. But i would like to have seen all the mortals reaction tho." Athal said and laughed on the inside. The day was getting darker and the clouds forming to start raining soon wouldnt help on keeping the daylight there. Her eyes started to glow, just like a little purple lamp without her noticing. She usually didnt pay attention to what her eyes did when it got dark. But she had found out that if they glowed when it was dark, her night vision was allmost as good as in the daylight. She looked at Lawrence face, not being able to read his expression, or anything in his face. All in all he look like an annoyed man with alot of pain inside him. Athal sighed and looked back out of the front window. A nice warm shower would be good, and then maybe after she would find a bar and get herself a treat by drinking some fine old whiskey. She shuckled, knowing that american women didnt really like whiskey, but she was also Scottish, and she loved whiskey.

"I don't think ya are a pain in the neck, ya're just different, everyone's a little different" said Lawrence. "And what have ya been doin' for the past 40 years anyway?" he asked with some curiosity.
Hell, not taking a shower properly now that it was the year 2009 was really weird. Where did she spent the last 40 years? Africa? Also, he wondered what would happen if she didn't eat, would she die of starvation?
"But ya must understand that I'm not one of those people that tries to be liked by everyone, I am who I am and if ya don' like it, then I couldn' care less" said Lawrence. "And if ya can't take a joke then we're gonna have trouble"
"It did work, I bought what I needed, and about the lights well ya may be immortal but ya can still be killed" said Lawrence. "I wouldn' go pissin' people off just like that, but hey that's just me"
He parked the truck on the motel's parking lot and threw a key at the girl. "There, ya can go inside and do whatever you want in there, I'm gonna go get some drinks, if ya decide to fall asleep though at least let me have half the bed, I really don' like sofas"
With that he started walking to a nearby bar, he wondered why he had to be so damn nice to everyone, one day someone would take advantage of that and rob him or something. He should really have to be more careful in the future.

Athal thought for a while what she had done for the last 40 years. "Well ive spendt 35 of the last 40 years thinking in the desert in mexico. Then i used the last 5 years walking in my own pace to California, and dont worry, i did shower, but in lakes and rivers." Athal told him. Spending 35 years thinking had done her good.
Then he talked about not trying to be liked and Athalya smiled. "Well i can take a joke, or well i need to learn to again, spending so much time alone pretty much gives you a huge lack of humor. But ill try and see if i can figure out when your joking. And i pretty much got the idea that you really dont care what people think about you, and for that, i like you. and you pretty much have been only nice to me. Not many would care to even look my way." Athal said and whispered the last sentence. She grabbed the key when he threw it to her. "Dont worry, im really not that big, and as long as the bed isnt a single bed we'll be just fine. Enjoy the drink, dont be out too late." Athal called after him and laughed as she walked over to the door with the same number as the key chain had.
Once inside the placed her bag near the door and took a look around. She found the bathroom and quickly got off her clothes and hopped into the shower and turned on the hot water. She hadnt realises how sore her muscles were untill the hot water started loosing up her tensed muscles. She gave a small sigh and washed her hair and her body, enjoying the smell of soap.
After some time she got out of the shower and dried herself. She walked out naked to the her bag near the door knowing Lawrence would probably be gone for a while. She pulled out some underwear and a night gown she had bought. She didnt know at the time she bought it why she got it, but now she was happy that she had gotten it. she slid the night gown on and smiled. The feeling of new satin clothes on her body was welcomed and missed. She suddenly yawned and felt how tired she was and decided to lay down on the bed, making sure to fill as less space on the bed as possible without falling down on the ground. She looked at the clock after some time, she had been laying there for about an hour now, and still couldnt fall asleep even tho she was tired. But she decided to close her eyes again and try to sleep.

"Thinkin' how can anyone spend so much time thinkin'?..." he asked himself more than to her. Then she said that she liked him and that he had been nice to her. Hell he had asked her to cut herself to prove she wasn't a shape shifter, if that was nice he could only imagine what not nice was all about. "Well ya like tough love don' ya?" he asked the girl more to his own amusement than as an actual question.
"Yes mom" said Lawrence as sarcasm when she said don't be out late. He wouldn't listen even if she had been serious.
He headed to the bar and there was a basketball game playing at the moment. It was still early around 9 and he could still get some beers, and maybe a whiskey to go along with them. He also ordered a cheese burger with onion rings. And by the time that the basketball game was on the last quarter, Lawrence had already had at least 6 beers.
He finally decided to pay and leave when the game was over and a bit more than tipsy he got back to the hotel room, he had a spare key, and when he opened everything was dark and the girl was on the bed. Her name left his mind again, hell why did girls had to have such difficult names to remember nowadays?
He remembered the last time a girl had been on his bed, that had to be when he was married. He sighed and threw his keys and wallet to the night stand, he probably smelled like sweat, and he had last showered a couple days ago before a hunt somewhere else. So even though he would really like to go to bed right now, he couldn't just go to bed smelling like beer, sweat and dirt when a girl was next to him.
He entered the shower and took a quick bath, trying not to make a lot of noise, getting out of the bathroom and putting only his boxers on, he usually slept either naked or on boxers depending on the mood. He decided that sleeping naked tonight might not be the best idea and he got a cover sheet, he thought of sleeping under the covers but he might had accidentally gotten too close to her and get slapped or something so he decided to play it safe. He thought she was sleep, so he simply said a small. "Good night" before turning around to the window and trying to fall asleep which might not be as easy as he thought.
