Athalya woke up that morning feeling awfull. Her entire body screaming in pain from her walking to San Francisco, and her head wasnt quite awake yet. She left the room she had rented and gave the key to the man in behind the desk. She walked out on the streets, feeling the wind freeze into her bones, she didnt have a jacket, all she owned was the Amthyst satin dress she wore and it wasnt at all enough to keep her warm this time of the year.
She quickly hurried across the streets and open the door into the coffee house. She looked around and saw a few people inside. She went up to the desk and ordered. "Large coffee please, and some soup if you have any, im not picky" Athalya said and sat down on a stool. She had goose bumps all over her pale skin. She rubbed her hans up and down her arms trying to make the blood run faster and warm up her body. She really needed to get something warmer soon otherwise she would freeze to death even tho that would be a sad way ending an immortal life. If only i hadnt been robbed just before i entered the city i would be just fine, oh well just my typical luck. Athal thought to herself.
The man behind the desk came back with a large coffee and some chicken soup, and Athal handed him some money for it. He handed her back the change and she put it in her small purse, it was her last savings left. Tonight she would have to find a corner in a street and some news papers to keep her warm. She deffently needed get a job really soon. She looked at the desk man and smiled, " You wouldnt by any chance need a waitress? im in desperate need of a job." Athalya asked him politely looking up at him through her eyelashes, a certain female flirting trick she had learned back in the good ol' 1800s.
She slowly ate her soup and watched everyone around her, she saw both normal humans, and abnormal ones. She had been able to tell the diffrence years ago. "Living a long life gives you alot of talents." She said to herself hoping no one heard her and would think that she was a lunatic talking to herself. But since no one else would talk to her she did so herself. And sometimes her own jokes would crack her up.

Sitting in a coffee having some breakfast, Lawrence was surprised that he was still roaming San Francisco, apparently the town had many weird things going on, and so he had been staying here for a while hunting whatever needed to be hunted.
Behind him he felt someone sitting, he turned and saw the figure of a girl, couldn't be more than 20, although knowing how fast teenagers grew up now, he wouldn't be surprised if she was 13. He returned to his waffles with bacon and could hear the girl talking to the waiter about a job. Though it wasn't any of his business, instead he returned his attention to the news paper in front of him, he was checking for any news that gave him the heads up of something evil going on.
The girl then talked to herself, and then Lawrence couldn't keep an answer to himself, he wasn't usually one for chiming in, but this girl couldn't be more than a teenager and was getting all emo, something he hated.
"Girl, ya are just a teenager" said Law to her. "Ya ain't got a lon' life"
"Whenever your bones star to hurt, 'n ya stop seein' the little letters in the cereal box, then ya would have lived a lon' life" he said and noticed that perhaps he had been rude, not that he would care much, but still. "'N sorry for chiming in, but ya weren' exactly silent 'bout it"

Athalya looked at the man who had said something to her. "Im sorry sir may i ask something personal of you?" Athalya asked the man who had been kinda rude to her. She took her coffee and walked over to a silent corner gesturing the man to follow her. She sat down and waited for him. He had no right to comment about her little talk with herself, and deffently no right to be rude. Athal hated when people made rude comments without knowing what they were talking about.
"Do you believe in un natural things, like demons, ghosts, ghouls, vampires etc." Athal whispered the question to the man so no one else than the man would hear her. While waiting for his question she took a good look at him. Such a young handsome man, but he seems to be so full of hatred. I wonder how old he is, he cant be more than atleast 30 years old. Still so young and fragile, but he seems to be strong, he will get long in life. Athal thought to herself.
Athal was fighting with her mind, she was utterly a curious person, and she wanted to get to know this person, which she never really wanted when she met someone, who even was rude towards her. She sighed and sat back. "Im born may 14th 1791, im therefor 218 years old, i was born in Scotland and lived with my parents in Edinburh untill they were killed when i was 15. I found out i had a super natural power, and that im immortal for no good reason. Im not a vampire, a demon or any other immortal being, im just a mortal human with the power of telekinetik. I have no idea why i just told you all this but i felt like i had to, since your comment about me saying a long life gives you talents was rather rude. I do not pity myself, all tho all i own is what i have on me." Athalya said sharply to the man, and then her ears went red and her violet eyes started to glow lightly. She looked at the man and then to the table, she had no right to talk this way to the man, but it had just bursted out of her.

Lawrence was more than surprised when she took him to a corner to talk. And sometimes being surprised isn't really for the best. She started talking about his line of work. He haunted these things daily. Well some of them, some others he hadn't encountered yet but he was confident he would some day.
"I'm familiar with 'em yeah" said Lawrence and then she started talking about herself. What the freaking hell was her deal? Was she for serious? He didn't know of immortal people other than the typicals, demons and vampires. Though he knew that with strong black magic it could be achieved, typically by witches and warlocks.
"Well I really recommend that ya come with me" said Lawrence. "Get that soup or whatever to go, and I'm not kiddin'"
He revealed one of his concealed guns. He always came armed wherever he went, in his line of work it was of course needed to defend himself. He didn't have any previous good experiences with young ladies, it appeared that they were all something freaky.
Either way he wasn't sure that she was just as she said, for all he knew she could be a looney, escaped from a nearby mental institution or something. He wasn't about to take any chances, he would take her and do some testing, make sure what he was dealing with.
He didn't even know if the girl was evil, she didn't strike him as evil, but then again, a shapeshifter girl that helped him once had ended up trying to choke him to death, so he wasn't about to take any chances.
"Hurry up" he said to her.

Athalya started shaking when she saw the gun and the man told her to follow him. Athal didnt feel like eating the soup anymore and the coffee cup fell from her hands as she followed the man, too scared to do nothing else. She looked to where he had his gun and felt a little dizzy. With that gun he could kill her just like any other mortal. She didnt know what he wanted to do with her, but she knew she wouldnt like it. "where are you taking me, if i may ask, and what do you plan to do." Athal asked him, her voice shaking.
She hoped he wasnt some maniac rapist serial killer type, and following him stroke her as something bad to do. But again her curiosity got away with her, and she did follow him. Her sences were alert, but somehow deep down she didnt find any danger about him other than his gun, he deffently wasnt an evil being, just a human man. And she was a human woman, immortal tho, but still a human, she was born to human parents and she looked like a human, the only weird thing about her was that she was immortal and was telekinetic.
She followed him outside and the wind hit her once again causing her to freeze deep to her bones. She once again wished she had used her power to get her purse, coat and suitcase back from that mean man who had ropped her. Then she wouldnt have to freeze. She kept following the man deciding if she should run away or try getting that gun from him with her powers and then run away. Or merely strip him from his clothes to make him not focus to her, so she could run, it had worked for her before. But she was afraid she might not run away from the sight, just like the last time. Athalya shook her head and got rid of all those thoughts, her mind was babbling to try and make sence of why he was taking her somewhere.

Once they were outside, Lawrence didn't know what to think of this girl. If she was something evil she was playing the victim real nice. Not that he wouldn't expect something evil to do that stuff, but still it was better to be sure than to be sorry.
Not answering any of her previous questions, Lawrence simply gave her a cryptic answer. "Well, I've never seen anythin' immortal that wasn' evil, and well I've actually never seen anythin' immortal, but I've got some good ways of making sure ya're not somethin' on my list..."
"That is, if ya are indeed immortal, ya could be just a mental case" said Lawrence to her. He went to his pick up and opened the door for her. "Get inside, we are takin' a ride, if ya are nothin' evil ya have nothin' to worry about sweetheart, but as soon as I sense ya are plannin' on havin' me for lunch, I'll make a pretty lead hole in your skull, understood?"
If she wasn't evil and just a mental case, this experience would probably at least teach her not to go around telling people she was immortal, there are only so many ways anyone would react to that confession, and Lawrence firmly believed he was making the right choice by taking her and testing her. If she was a freaking vampire he would make sure to decapitate the hell out of her.

Athal shrugged at his answer, "I most deffently isnt any evil being, atleast i hope im not. But if you dont believe in me being immortal, then maybe my birth citificate could help. And i could mention diffrent news papers to look in for pictures of me about some 100 years ago if that would help too." Athal said and her eyes continued to glow even more.
Coming to a stop as they reached what seemed to be his truck Athal looked at him. "If your some serial killer og rapist thing it will be best for yourself to get away from me now, and me having you for lunch is not an option, unless if your thinking of something else. but im no cannibal." Athal said, her thick scottish accent coming through. Athal was trying to figure out why she should go with him on a ride, but decided to go with it. She walked past him and sat on the car seat, using her power to slam the car door shut before he could close it, knowing he would notice she had closed the door without using her hands, but Athal just didnt care at this point, her mind was going numb. All Athalya had to prove she was immortal was her birth citificate, and all her passports, the sailing ticket when she first fled from Scotland. Also she had her wedding ring on, she had gotten married when she was 17, and was a widow when she was 25, her husbond had died from a long term illness. So it was all she had to prove how old she was, but she was afraid that this man wouldnt accept it as proof. Ohh well, i know how it is, and im deffently not a loonatic. Athal thought to herself.

"Yeah well, if ya lived as long as you supposedly have, I would have expected you to not go tellin' everyone ya just met that ya're indeed immortal, that is no way to keep the secret" said Lawrence as he started driving, once he reached a spot out of town where he knew no one would chime in, he stopped the truck and got out of it.
He opened the back door of the car and took out what he needed, some dead man's blood to see if she was a vampire, an iron dagger to prove if she was a shapesifter, salt and holy water to see if she was a demon, and the only reasonable explanation for immortality and that would go well with Telekinesis was if she was a witch, though unfortunately he had no way of proving she was a witch. So he would have to discard everything else first.
"Get out of the car" said Lawrence to her and waited for her, once she did, he gave the iron knife to her. "I need ya to pinch your finger with that, I'll need to see some blood..."
"Then when ya've got a cut, put a drop of this in there..." said Lawrence giving her a thermo, it had dead man's blood in there. "When ya're done with that, put some salt on your mouth, and then have a drink of this water..."
He passed the salt and flask of holy water to her. It was extensive but that would rule out many of the evil beings he had in mind, sadly he wouldn't know what to do if she was a witch. So if she attacked him, he would have to defend himself the old fashioned way.
"Also, if ya're a witch... I'm gonna getcha sooner or later..." said Lawrence trying to sound as if she should take his warning seriously.

Athal shrugged and got out of the car, and looked at the things he reached her. Just the mere thought of cutting herself on the knife made her dizzy, she couldnt stand the sight of blood and usually fainted when she hurt herself. She looked at the flask which contained what she believe was water. She decided to go with the salt first, she placed a good amount of it on her tongue and swallowed it. "yuck, i allways hated salty things." Athal said and then washed her mouth by taking a sip of the water. It tasted a bit weird and wondered how long it had been in the flask. She then took the knife, pinned her eyes close as the cut her finger, unfortunatelty the knife slipped and cut her palm, and she saw her bloody hand. Without any notice she suddenly sat on the ground holding her head in her hands, feeling like she had to throw up. "I wonder how i survived the second world war without throwing up till i died" Athal gasped. She took the thermo and poured some of the red liquid on her wound just to discover it was more blood. Her face went completely pale and she quickly crawled over to the side of the road and threw up all she had in her stomach. While throwing up she lost control of her power, and everything around her started to fly around and fly through the air. She was startled and shaking from throwing up and the sight of blood, and her violet eyes glowed like a bright light. She finished emptying her stomach and sat down leaning again the truck. "Never been able to hold my stomach together when i saw blood." Athal whispered, her head still spinning. She grabbed her purse with her hand, not the wounded one, and looked through it, she found all her somewhat 50 passports and her birth citificate and all the pages she had printed out about her past in Scotland, everything from trusting sourses. She had her fingerprint card, where her finger print plus name and adress in Scotland. She had a clip from a news paper, which the picture of her, it was an article about how her fingerprints had been found on a crime scene, an apartment she had visited before it became a place of murder, around 150 years after her dissapereance from Scotland in 1806. She threw it all over to the man and just sat there on the ground looking at her wounded hand and tried to control her breath and thereby her powers. Slowly things that were moving around stopped to move. "Here the thing, if you wanna know if someone is a witch or a warlock, draw a pentagram in the ground and make the person stand in it, then say, I bind you to this place untill i wish to set you free, then make the person try and walk out from the pentragram, a witch or a warlock cant do so. I know, ive held some witches that way, trying to find my parents kidnappers and killers through the years. I am immortal, just dont ask me how, since i dont know, ive been looking for that answer myself the last 180 years. Believe me or not, i really dont care at this point. All im interested in is to find that abnormal being who killed my parents, cuz it sure wasnt any human who did it." Athalya said to the man. Athalya started to rip the lowest part of her torn dress and looked for any water around, but didnt find any, so she just wrapped the dirty clothing around her wounded hand.

"Well congratulations, ya're not a vampire, shapeshifter or demon" said Lawrence to her. "We still have to do that pentagram thin' later, because if ya were a witch it would serve ya well to fool me into trustin' ya, but in the meantime let's get ya cleaned"
He took some water, bandages and alcohol from the truck, and applied some alcohol to the wound, cleaning it off. Then gave her the regular unholy water for her to drink. "Come on, I'll buy ya a burger somewhere, ya look like ya need it"
He looked through the papers she just gave her. So perhaps it was true? Maybe she had been wondering around for a couple centuries. How? That was beyond him.
"Well, if what ya're sayin' is true, then I guess we have somethin' in common" said Lawrence. "I ain't looking for no witches, but a demon son of a bitch killed my family, and I'm gonna get that bastard even if it kills me"
"Also... I'm afraid to tell ya this, but ya ain't exactly human yourself, I know nothing of someone just stayin' young forever" he said to the girl. "But as long as I don't figure out exactly what ya are, and if ya're plannin' to kill me, I can help ya"
"Cause frankly, ya look like shit..." said Lawrence to the girl. "No offense, but ya look like ya need some new clothes and somethin' to eat, so if ya want I can take ya to a mall or somethin', I ain't got much money, but some rather nice hunters taught me how to do credit card fraud and I'm willin' to try it"

Athalya bit her lip when he cleaned her wound with alcohol and put bandages on it. Hearing that he was looking for a demon who had killed his parents Athal looked at his eyes when he said it and knew he was telling the truth. Athal had been stumbeling into some demons through her years, none of them pleasant company, except one, Zerapin. They had traveled together for about 20 years when their ways parted. He was a demon from hell, but he had willed his life to kill all evil demons. "Im sorry to hear that sir, and thanks for telling me just how bad i look, ive been avoiding mirrors for about a week now, and i know my looks are terrible at the moment. I was met with a really nice welcome to San Fran party, which was a terrible man, who robbed me, and stole everything but my purse here, he did take my wallet tho, so ive been living on the streets for a few days, trying to find a job, but thats hard when you look like a crack whore gone wrong." Athal said trying to smile to the man. She didnt even know who he was or what his name was.
Athal sat down for a while untill she trusted her legs to hold her up. "Im not exactly looking for a witch to bless with my revenge, but i know for a thing that some witches know more than they are supposed to, and that some of them can look back in the past of something if they had something in their hands to bring them there." Athal told him as she tried to walk over to the car, slowly and not sure if her legs would fall under her. "Please do tell me if you ever find out what i am, i would be more than gratefull to know what i am, and why im supposed to roam this world for so long, loving the people you get to know, and then watch them die out of old age or worse. To know that everyday is a step closer to being alone, fearing to get close to anyone or let them in your heart. To life with that knowledge is like stabbing yourself in the heart every morning when you wake up." Athal said with a sigh as she leaned herself against the door of the truck catching air in the breeze that hit her. She looked around her, it was a pretty, but normal day in the world, and Athal thought back to when it was normal to ride around on a horse instead of using a car or train. She missed her horses who had passed away. "The weather is perfect for a day to ride a horse in the woods. And credit card fraud" Athal looked at the man with a questioning look. "Classy" She said and opened the car door and got in. She looked up at the sky, seeing the clouds pull together and darken, it was going to rain, and she hoped they could get her some clothes before it would, otherwise everyone would see pretty much everything of her since the thin satin wasnt particular decent if it was wet. She catched a glance of herself in the mirror in the front window of the car and gasped. She looked worse than she had thought, she deffently could use a shower, and a hair brush. She waited for the man to get in the car before she turned to him. "May i know your name, so that i can thank you. Even tho your were pretty rude at first, ive seen that you can show a little kindness, and i havent met a single person who was nice to me since Zerapin, one i travled with for 20 years since our ways parted. Which reminds me, you gotta know your enemies before you kill them instead of just killing them right away. Some of them are actually fighting for the good. Zerapin is a demon, but a kind one. together we killed a few evil demons and some vampires who tried to make me their dinner after Zerapin persuaded me into being the helpless bait for them." Athal told the man, hoping he would understand that even tho some things were born evil, doesnt meen they wanted to be, and that some of them fought what they were born to be.

"Please don' call me sir" said Law to her as he got into the car. "Ya makin' me feel old, besides if what ya tellin' me is true, then ya're way older than me"
"Well apparently witches are some crafty and sneaky beings" said Law. "Never met one, but I hear that they can be quite deadly"
"Yeah well, everyone dies" said Lawrence to the girl. "Well almost everyone anyway, and death isn't somethin' to be 'fraid of, but ya know, I pity ya, I wouldn't be able to keep on goin' after so much time, I'd have put a bullet on my head a lon' time ago"
When she said Classy about the credit card theft, he didn't know if she was being sarcastic or not. "If ya have a better way to put some clothes on ya I'm all ears Highlander"
And he also agreed it would be a nice day to ride a horse, but he had left all of his horses back at the farm in Lawrence and he wasn't about to go back to check on them any time soon. Not to that hell hole.
"I got no name anymore, but ya may call me Lawrence" said Law to the girl. "Either that or Law, but I swear on my mother's grace I'll kill ya if ya call me Larry"
He listened her talking about good demons, there was no such thing. Hell, he wasn't sure there was a thing such as a good human now that he thought about it.
"That's all fine and dandy Highlander, but in my experience..." said Lawrence. "In the end no matter how good they seem they are always tryin' to kill ya"
He of course remembered that shapeshifting girl that almost killed him the day he learned what a hunter was. Interesting enough it was the same day that he became a hunter. The girl surely looked like crap, so he decided that if he was going to enter to some shops with her, she couldn't be looking at all like that.
"Take one of my shirts from the back seat on the mean time, ya can also use some of my deodorant and use some of the water I gave ya to clean your face... there should be a comb there somewhere as well..." said Lawrence to her. "You won' look exactly like a lady and will smell manly, but trust me, it's better than what you look like right now... At least until we've bought ya some stuff"

Athal looked at him when he commented putting a gun to his head. "Trust me ive thought of putting a gun to my head, but i must admit im more afraid of putting a gun to my head than i am facing a demon. And im not really a suicidal person at all." She admitted to him, and it was true, she hadnt been afraid of facing any demon at any time, but guns freaked her out. Only one man had ever put a gun to her head, and he had been dead before he could blink another time. Thats when she learned that her power litteraly could pull in anything and the mans skin and bones had been ripped apart by her anger. She shivered at the memory. Then the man told her what to call him. "Allright, lawrence it is. Even tho Rock would suit you better. You seem calm and strong, so i think you remind me of a rock. But ill call you Lawrence, and why the heck are you calling me highlander? My name is Athalya, pronounced as its spelled. But if you wish to you can call me Athal, Amethyst or Shade. Even tho Amethyst is mostly used by demons. Its the name of me who holds the power over me." Athal said.the power to control me athal thought.
Athal decided to ignore his comment about demons only being able to be evil, and looked again in the mirror. He once again somehow commented on her looks by telling her to wash her face and put on a shirt from the backseat of his truck. She crawled over the seat and sat in the backseat where she could find the space for it. She started to pull off her dress and shot him a glance in the mirror. "Would you mind not paying any attention to the backseat while i change? And dont worry if i wont look feminine, i can make eveything look feminine, and i wont ruin your precious shirt. And i like the manly smell better than the female smell. Really men should wear female perfume and women wear male deoderant. Since usually men pick out the male smell they like most, and the same with women, then they would be able to like each others smell." Athal said laughing. She pulled the dress over her head and tried to hide as good as she could from the mirror sight. She put on his shirt and wrapped it around her, it was so long it reached to the middle of her thighs. She looked in the backseat and found a belt and she tightnened it around her waist line. The she found the bottle with normal water and pured water on her dress, and cleaned her face. Then she dug down and after a while of searching she found the comb and combed her hair. She grabbed her purse from the front seat and pulled out an eyeliner and a mascara. When she was done she climbed back over the front seat and sat down looking in the mirror. Her normal beauty was back, something that had gotten her in trouble with men many times. She smiled to Lawrence. " Tadaa, hope i look respectfull enough for ya now." She said and gave him a little smile. She looked to her feet and shook her head, knowing the things on her feets would work for now, she sure couldnt call them shoes anymore.

"So ya just live on, see people die, watch wars" said Lawrence. "That's pretty much my definition of hell"
"Rock? Nah... I like Lawrence by now..." said Law. "Reminds me of my goals, every time I hear it"
Yes, every time someone called him Lawrence he remembered the evil that had stroke his house that night and he could feel the demon's sulfuric smell all over him. Then he reached for the saw... And it was all over. Apparently, until he learned that the demon survived that. Lawrence was going to make sure that next time they met he went back to hell. The same with any other demons, they all had hidden agendas.
She went to the back seat to change. Even though he knew she was probably older than him, she still looked like a minor and he couldn't really look at her without feeling that if he found her attractive he would be damned to hell. Like the saying went, 13 can get you 30. Though this time it was different, an old person that looked very young. Technically there would be nothing wrong in finding her attractive, although she was immortal, she had to be some sort of supernatual freak, not that he would call her a freak, she seemed harmless, but either way, she wasn't the same species as him. He had to shrug that feeling off.
"Well ya got a point there, but I use the lotion that my wife used ta pick for me" said Lawrence. "She liked it, I've never really been one for usin' it, but well... Old habits never die they say"
Once she was done changing she got back to the front, she looked better now. She looked like they had just had sex actually. His smell, his shirt, it surely looked like that then she started talking.
"Ya talk in a very weird way, ya know that?" said Lawrence to her. "One would expect you'd pick up current speech trends, I don' know anyone that talks like that anymore"

Athal gave him a smile when he mentioned that his wife had picked out the smell. "She sure had a good taste in smells, your wife." Athalya said and shot herself another glance in the mirror just to check she didnt look like a monster. She smiled to herself, when she was married, she had worn her husbonds shirts all the time just like this, if they werent going out. Then he mentioned her way of speaking and she glanced at him. "What do you meen by that, how do i speak? and what do you meen by speech trends? is that someting they say in the movies now a days?" Athal asked not knowing what he ment. She thought about it while and looked at him. "By the way, why did you call me highlander? no one knows i was born in the scottish highlands. Even i dont know where exactly, all i know is that i was born while my parents were camping in the highlands of Scotland." Athal said, hoping it wasnt some cheesy movie name, she had heard about movies, and knew what they were, but she had never in her long life seen one. She and her husbond had agreed not to own a television, they had lived their life happily not knowing of the world outside their little cabing in the mountains down in south america. All knews they heard was from the village people when they went shopping for food and other home supplies in the village near the bottom of the mountain that they had lived on.
Athal just sat their, sorrow showing in her eyes of the memory of her husbond. they had, had some great years together when he unfortunately past away. They wanted kids but never could get any since her husbond had lost some certain parts that you would use to great kids, not the good part, but as he had said, he got his balls pulled out by a angry bitch. Athal smiled at that memory, it had allways made her laugh, but she had been loving and understanding when she saw how much it had hurted him. After he died Athalya had taken back her birthname, just having his name hurt too much. She stole a quick look at Lawrence, and wondered how he felt. "So where are we going now?" Athalya asked him, breaking the silence. She had never been one to like too much silence.
