Personality:
Dale had been a man that displayed an array of quirky mannerisms, such as giving a 'thumbs up' when satisfied, sage-like sayings, distinct sense of humor, along with his love for a good cherry pie and a "damn fine cup of coffee". One of his most popular habits is recording spoken-word tapes to a mysterious woman called 'Diane' into his dictaphone that he always carries with him, that often contain everyday observations and thoughts on his current case. However, since the Twin Peaks incident, much of Dale's flavored personality has been drained. Rarely does he have anything humorous to say, or anything else outside of the occult. A man obsessed with the other world, often forgetting the one he stands in now.

History:
Born on April 19, Drake is a graduate of Haverford College. He is something of an introspective personality, due to his profound interest in the mystical, particularly in Tibet and Native American mythology. Much of his work is based on intuition and even dreams. On joining the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Dale Drake was based at the Bureau offices in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was here Drake was partnered with the older Windom Earle. At some point, Drake would be placed under the authority of FBI Chief Gordon Cole, who dealt with the mysterious 'Blue Rose' cases. Some time after Drake joined the Bureau, Earle's wife, Caroline, was a witness to a federal crime. Earle and Drake were assigned to protect her, and it was around this time that Drake began an affair with Caroline. However, one night, whilst in Pittsburgh, Drake let his guard down - and Caroline was murdered by her husband. Drake's former partner had "lost his mind", and was subsequently sent to a mental institution. Drake was absolutely devastated by the loss of the woman he would later refer to as the love of his life, and swore to never again get involved with someone who was a part of a case he was assigned to.
Three years before his arrival to Twin Peaks, Dale has a dream involving the plight of the Tibetan people, and revealed to him the deductive technique of the Tibetan method. Deeply moved by what he saw in this dream, it is indicated it was this event that formed the basis of his unconventional methods of investigation. Drake reveals to his boss, Cole, of the portents of a strange dream. While in the meantime Special agent Chester Desmond disappeared while investigating a bizarre murder case. Drake picks up the case, but is unable to find any evidence which could lead to the discovery of what happened to Desmond or Theresa Banks, the murder victim. Roughly a year later, in 1999, Dale tells Rosenfield in the Philadelphia offices of how he senses Banks' killer will strike again soon, and that his victim will be a young woman, who has blonde hair, is sexually active, using drugs, and is crying out for help. Rosenfield is quick to dismiss Dale's notion.
Later, Drake comes to the town of Twin Peaks to investigate the murder of Laura Palmer. He eventually helps the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Department in investigating other cases as well. While in Twin Peaks, he learns of the mysterious places called the Black Lodge and the White Lodge and the spirits inhabiting them. In the end Dale enters the evil Black Lodge to rescue his love interest, Annie Blackburn. In the Black Lodge, he is given the choice of offering his soul in exchange for Annie's life. Dale accepts the offer, but the deal does not conclude for unknown reasons. Years later, Dale is found in San Fransisco, still wearing his suit and tie, though it's uncertain if he even has a job anymore.
Roleplay Sample:
Eli couldn't help but grin.
"I can hold my own, and then some," he replied suggestively. He was walking behind her, but apparently it wasn't quite up to pace for the girl. With a sigh he closed the distance between them, eyes trailing down her back. Some sort of magnetic force was keeping his eyes on all sorts of trouble. Not that Eli didn't enjoy trouble...
"I'm movin', I'm movin," he muttered, closing the church doors behind them.
The agent heard the moans of zombies and was about to suggest they make some noise themselves, when Rain turned around and asked him if he found anything.
"Not exactly, but I guess I shoulda grabbed a cross 'n holy water. Wanna double back?" he asked sarcastically to Rain's back. She was already on the move again. Tough crowd. Eli followed suit, nearly running into her as she stopped abruptly. Blond girl, kitted up with some military gear. So that was Rain's survive-pal. What a team Eli found himself with. A couple of women with weapons to kill and looks to match. He wasn't complaining, but being in their company sure seemed risky. Sometimes risk paid off though.
"Civilian, a pain in the ass...but a civilian."
'Well, only my friends call me civilian. You can call me Eli," Black responded from behind Rain. When the woman introduced herself, Eli stepped forwards and shook her hand. She definitely seemed composed. He wondered how the military fit into this mess, when Umbrella was playing big brother. Would they get their hands dirty, play the part of the useless hero, or end up just more casualties to the tally? It was hard to say at this point.
