CJ sees the sign ahead, finally! Welcome to San Francisco - it reads. "Well it's about bloody time," he mutters to the girl sitting next to him. Girl probably doesn't explain her though, her pale skin and graceful demeanor almost screams what she really is. "You're right, we should've ran it," he adds with a sigh.
He sees the approaching city lights, blinking against their glare. "Damn cities." He's always hated the bright lights and ridiculous population numbers of these places. Give him the country any day! The city is just too full of temptation!
He pulls off the road, the sound of crunching gravel beneath the tyres way louder than it should be. But he's used to it. He cuts the engine and steps out of the car, shutting the door behind him and inhaling a deep breath of city air. Of course he doesn't need to inhale, but if he wants to use his sense of smell, he doesn't really have a choice. Several scents hit him at once, the exhaust fumes of the other cars and trucks on the highway, the trees surrounding the road, a few animals scattered through them, and , as always, the overpowering smell of mouth-watering humans.
"She'd better be here," he mutters again under his breath. His voice is way too soft for anyone to hear, but he knows Cara will hear it anyway.

Cara sighs, her mind wandering as they drive along. She hopes this time they'll find her, but everytime they get close she seems to slip through their fingers. One day they'll finally get her and she, for one, was going to enjoy every second. It wasn't going to be slow either...
CJ's voice interrupts her thoughts, she looks up and sees the sign. "Hell yeah, this trip took too long" she agrees as he pulls over. She waits until they are completely stopped then jumps out too, needing to stretch her legs.
Her eyes darkening momentarily as a variety of mouthwatering smells hit her. Well of course not all of them were good. She glances over at a trash bin a few metres away, the rubbish overflowing from it. Damn it stunk! She tries to identify the other smells, knowing CJ had probably already done it. Even though she's a vampire, her sense of smell wasn't as acute as his. In time it would be, but at the moment she had to concentrate, especially in new places.
She refocuses on CJ, nodding slowly. "I hope she is, then maybe...it will finally be over" she says seriously. She smiles over at CJ, "I don't know about you but I'm a little peckish" she admits.

CJ just shrugs at her answer. He might say it may have been quicker, but there was no way in hell he was going to leave his jeep behind!
He screws up his face at the rubbish bin next to them, overflowing with food scraps and paper wrappings. "Damn humans and the crap they leave behind..." he mutters, turning back to look towards the trees.
"I hope she is, then maybe...it will finally be over"
That grabs his attention again. He snaps his head back to her, the movement so quick a normal eye wouldn't have been able to even register it. He doesn't bother replying to Cara. He knows the truth - It'll never be over. But he can't tell her that, she still needs her hope yet...
"I don't know about you but I'm a little peckish"
He catches her grin and chuckles back at her words. "That would be why I pulled over," he explains. "We're just leaving the country area now. We're about to enter the city and it already smells so damn good... I thought we should take a moment to hunt the trees back there before we just walk into so much temptation."

Cara steps further away from the rubbish bin. "I know humans are so disgusting sometimes" she mutters cringing at the smell. She couldn't understand why they didn't empty the damn bin more often. She shakes her head trying to push it out of her mind.
She narrows her gaze at CJ as he doesn't answer her, she wanted to try to get him to talk about it all but she knew it was pointless. He didn't like to talk about her. She pushes that too from her mind. She knows she tends to obsessive at times, which wasn't very helpful.
Hearing him mention they were still near the woods she turns to gaze into the bushes, a smile appearing on her face. "Ooh theres something there...it smells like...a deer?" she says tentatively, glancing his way to see if she was right or not. She was getting better, finally. She was able to identify most animals but sometimes she got a little confused. "Tell you what..." she says with a cheeky grin, "I'll race you"

"I can't believe we used to be like them," CJ mutters back. "But our maids took the garbage out pretty damn often, otherwise they were beaten..." He bites his lip after saying that. "Uh not by me," he quickly adds.
"A deer?" he asks, screwing up his face at the thought. Ew... He sniffs the air experimentally, wrinkling his nose again at the smell. "Yeah, definitely a deer," he agrees.
He chuckles at the challenge in her eyes. "If we're gonna race, why don't we race for something that's really worth it?" He approaches the trees slowly, letting his senses take over. "Come on," he mutters. "There has to be some kind of predator out here..." He continues to sniff the air, taking his time... and finally getting something! "Coyote," he says, a smile lighting up his face. "About 5 kilometres south." He crouches down low, ready to take off into the trees. "Ready?" he asks Cara, the thrill of the hunt building already.

Cara laughs as he mentions the maids he used to have, her family never had one but it would have made things so much easier.
She sees the expression on his face as he gets a whiff of the deer, he was such a fussy prick sometimes. He never had liked deer. She wasn't much of a fan but hey when you're hungry....what did it matter?
She turns towards the woods and sniffs the air, faintly smelling the coyote, damn he was good. She knew she'd have to find an quicker path to beat him there. "Hmmm ok sounds good to me, whomever loses has to have the deer" she winks over at him. She pulls a hair tie out of her bag and ties her hair back. "On the count of 3....1...2...".
Just before she says 3 she sprints off in the direction of the coyote, bounding through the woods. She could feel the bushes scratching at her face but this didn't bother her. She knew it wouldn't scar her anyway.

"Cheater," CJ chuckles as she takes off prematurely. He shakes his head at her, then takes off running. Running probably isn't the right word, it's more like flying he's going so fast. He feels the ground beneath his feet every hundreth of a second as his body speeds along, the trees blurring around him. He doesn't hit anything, his senses prevent that. He's well aware of everything around him, from the six foot branch about to knock his head off, to the spider web between the trees ahead of him. He can even hear the spider walking along one of its silky threads.
In no time at all, the smell of the coyote is blocking everything else out. An evil smile spreads across his face and he licks his suddenly dry lips in anticipation. He knows Cara is close by, he can smell her, and the scent of her hunger...

Cara flew through the woods, completely focused on the smell of the coyote. She could sense CJ near her but doesn't react. A moments hesitation and he would win...again. A bird screeches overhead as she bounds over rocks, bushes and overgrown plants trying not too lose her concentration as another smell hits her. What the hell is that?, she thinks to herself, trying to identify it, without any luck.
As she rounds a large rock she hears the patter of padded feet. She comes to a complete stop in an instant, crouching down low ready to strike. Her eyes narrowing as the coyote strolls along near her. She frowns as she notices something behind it...what is that smell? Something else was hunting it...her eyes widen as she realises what it is. Jackpot!!

CJ lets out a low growl as he spots it, launching himself at it before it has a chance to even take its next breath. He tears out its throat, drinking greedily, gulping every drop of blood from the body almost desperately.
"That'll teach you to turn on your own species," he mutters as he drops the carcass of the second coyote to the ground, licking his lips and sighing as the blood hits his system. He considers taking the original coyote too, but he has to let Cara feed too...
He wipes his mouth with the sleeve of his shirt as he looks around, honing his senses, hoping like hell he can catch the scent of something else before they hit the city!
"We shouldn't leave it this long to feed," he says quietly to Cara. "It's not good for our... uh... urges."

Cara nearly snarls as CJ goes flying through the air but quickly changes her mind as he attacks the second coyote. She doesn't waste another second just dives over to the first coyote, pinning it to the ground in less than a heartbeat.
The sounds of them both feeding fill the air, Cara tries to focus on the slowing heartbeat of the coyote as she greedily swallows its blood down. The warm sticky texture coating her tongue. She moans as the coyote dies and no longer has anymore blood.
She slowly stands up, pulling a tissue from her pocket to wipe her mouth, not wanting to stain another jacket. She glances over at CJ, "Hmm might be a good idea but I must admit I'm pretty full. I think mine was bigger" she teases him lightly. She laughs softly as he mentions their urges. "I thought you were going after mine at first" she admits sheepishly.

CJ chuckles as she daintily wipes her mouth with a tissue. "You're so not a real vampire," he teases her, shaking his head.
"Hmm might be a good idea but I must admit I'm pretty full. I think mine was bigger"
"You wish," he adds, licking his lips again, trying to get every trace of blood from them. "I just have a bigger... appetite," he shrugs. "You know I eat twice as much as you. I'm bigger, it makes sense. But I also shouldn't've left it over a week between feeds..."
"I thought you were going after mine at first"
"I honestly thought about it," he smirks at her. "But I changed my mind. I guess I'm gonna have to make do with the deer after all... I'll be right back," he adds, and is suddenly gone from sight.

Cara laughs and rolls her eyes as he says she isn't really a real vampire "Well just because I'm vampire it doesn't mean I can't have manners" she replies cheekily, poking her tongue at him.
."I agree though we shouldn't have waited so long, I nearly got you to stop and pick up that hitchhiker and he looked like he hadn't showered in a year" she says with a shudder. She could remember the appetising smell despite the overwhelming sweaty odor and stale cigarettes. Sometimes it was disgusting what she wanted to eat!!
She watches as he bounds away, then turns and heads back to the jeep. She leans against the bonnet and waits for him.

"Manners are boring," CJ smirks back at her. "I spent the first sixteen years of my life using them ridiculously. Screw using them as a vampire!"
He throws back his head and laughs as she mentions the hitchhiker. "I considered it too!" he admits through his laughter. "Damn, we got close, huh? Definitely have to be more careful from now on!"
He takes his time hunting down the deer, savouring the taste before returning to his jeep, licking his fingers as he does. "Wasn't so bad," he shrugs about the deer, getting into the jeep and starting it back up. "Nearest cafe?" he asks as he waits for her to get back in.

Cara jumped eagerly into the jeep. "Yes yes, I'd love a coffee" she says excitedly, for some reason even though she was a vampire she still craved coffee as much as she had when she was human. She settled back into her seat, the smell of he deer and the coyotes still in the air. She sighs contendedly, she always feels so good once shes eaten. It's like she's so relaxed, so happy and so full!!
She looks towards the road, knowing that it was only 5 minutes to a cafe, 5 minutes until they'd come face to face with some humans. She was relieved she'd eaten already otherwise there may have bee a massacre. "I wonder if she's still in town?" she mutters, meaning the vamp they'd ben hunting for so long.

"You and your coffee's," CJ chuckles back at her, shaking his head. He pulls back into traffic, ignoring the beeps and yells as he cuts a few people off. Screw them, what does he care?! He drives over the bridge, marvelling at its beauty, wondering what it'd be like to climb the thing - to sit atop it and watch everything and everyone scrambling in their pointless everyday lives... Cara's voice interrupts his thoughts and a scowl covers his face instead. " She's here," he mutters, gritting his teeth. "I swear I can smell her already."He drives through the streets, looking for the nearest cafe and finally spotting one... OOC: Post at the cafe next
